After a couple of years away from riding it's good to finally be back!
I had been looking at getting either a Ducati **9, KTM Duke or Husqvarna 610SM when returning to riding, but by chance found this 09 KTM SMC with 15,000km on the clock.
It's been an awesome choice. Comfortable, nice and light, plenty of grunt ... Most of all heaps of fun :)
It was pretty much stock when I got it, apart from the graphics and some slightly dodgy looking "improvements" to the air box lid.
Mods so far have been the end can, removal of the stock air box and fitting of a pod filter and installation of the Vortex ECU - the ECU has woken the bike up to no end, throttle response now is just instant.
Set the sag up - rather frustrating point is you have to drop the shock out in order to change to preload!
Still getting used to the handling - it's very sharp, changes direction pretty quickly. Chicken strips tell me I can still lean her over a bit more yet.
