View Full Version : So who is now going to avoid the malls?

With the announcement today by John Key, I hope that our little country avoids targeting by extremists but would any of us really change our daily routine or mind set going about our business?
Terrorists are only bullies and cowards at heart, using "weak" targets as pressure points to push their barrow. I'm sure that stout hearted (now there's an old fashioned term for you) New Zealanders will not bow down to fear of reprisals.
After all, you are more likely to get knocked off your treadlie by a bus than be in the wrong place at the wrong time on the end of a random terrorist attack in Noo Zuld. Aren't you?

Hoping like fuck my cousin doesn't come back in a body bag after these "police" and "army" that they are training begin turning like in Afghanistan.
Key will now use the higer risk created by his deployment, and the bodies that will come as an even stronger justification for his actions but also a combat role.
Good shit Nat voters. Let's export democracy to the mid east, while ignoring it at home - not even voting on the matter in Parliament.:ar15:

So if you join the army in NZ, you expect to spend your career doing ......? Press-ups? Play war games?
Our Government has spoken. Is that not what they are voted in to do?
Me, I'd just shut our borders to those most troublesome countries. Harsh? Think about it - they don't want the Western world sticking their nose in their backyard.
Just like our No-nukes policy - FO USA nuclear powered ships. They got over it.... Is that still one of our policies?

Imagine a country run where every single decision had to be voted on, rather than letting the lot we voted in (even if only because they annoyed us less than the other lot did) getting on with the job.
It'd make a bunch of bikers seem organised. One Bikeoi every twenty years would look like progress.

Actually.....politicians are supposed to do what voters want,
with the interweb being there for all and sundry, why don't we vote for everything?

More people have died from poor tourist driving in the past two months in NZ, than any terrorism in NZ and Aus combined the past two years (I'm respectfully keeping away from Bali given that it happened in Bali). Terrorism is mostly psychological warfare. So, am I going to change any habits because a bunch of crazies rule a piece of desert in the middle east? Fuck no.

Must admit that I do not understand the reason for going to Iraq, i.e. to train the Iraq army. Simple really, point the noisy end of the gun at the bastard that's trying to kill you, how hard can that be?
The real problem is they, as Andrew Little said, are a corrupt army. The yanks have been trying to get them to march in a straight line for years without success, so what bloody difference is a bunch of NZ guys going to make?
If they are going to send troops over there stop taking the piss and at least say they are going to be part of the fight to kill the murdering scum.

Perhaps we should send pictures of Eastgate to ISIS, they'd realise that anything they did there would be doing the city a favour......
I go to a mall once a week, to pick mrs up from work, and once every few months to get a haircut.
Other than that, I will continue avoiding malls as I have always done, they are already very high on my list of places I don't want to be.
