Ya reckon mate, you better not put any mint fairings on the GSXR, as they'll fucked from the the bashing it'll take from the TL if you try and get past me

But anyhow regarding the ride, i have to bail as well, took my GSXR up north today, so Sunday is spend with the missus day, and there's no way i can afford to get round the loop, maybe next weekend the coin will be more in favour.

Hope yous have a good un.

Ahh it was a great ride. Nice to see a fair amount of people turning up.
And of course the 'team milf racer' gareth_d and the 'independant racer' tristank managed to keep the bigger bikes honest again
We ahh.. don't compensate for anything

The rain got me a little worried but it stayed away. As BJ said it kept it not to hot but not too cool.

The yellow gixxer 1k crew were fucking confusing... who is who. Only thing I could realise was SPB having no stickers on the back - not that you notice when they rapidly disappear under power on a long sweeper

Some bumpier parts of the road were interesting - heard various conversations about how the arse's came out a few times... good to hear it was happening to everyone so I can't blame the tyres :P

Nice to meet some fresh faces - liam (doing friggen well for a 5 day newb O_o), teflon, madmax gsxr guy, one of the red/white cbr250's (whatsa your name again?), I think sazLEX (white vfr400..?) and a few others I can't quite remember.

My can of beans helped great on the straights, mr SPB aka beanman

p.s. gareth - soft tyres are for pussies

also pissing tristan off by pushing his mirrors in riding along SH2 on the way back, i think those behind us had a good few laughs at tristan and my hooliganism (had to love that boy racer!)

Karl the one time you did scare me was when you sandwiched me between you and tristan, that wheelie up the hill on between tairua and kopu was mean, i think you were 30cm off my shoulder

Personally had an awesome day, really enjoyed chasing the pack up from the back after having to sort out my zorst, that twisty stuff over from coromandel to whitianga is mint!

Apologies to anyone that i cutoff/passed close to, was enjoying it a bit too much to slow down for too long.

HDT that was my first ride with you and i gotta say you're a bit mental on that CBR. If i was keeping the ZXR i'd get it jetted/tuned to the pipe and then i'd have that little bit of extra power to match you on the straights :2thumbsup

That was a great days riding. Thanks to whomever organised it and to everyone who turned up for being so . . . er, nice. Memorable moments, include being overtake in the twisties by a CBR400 on a mission, only to later find out it was a 250, god it had a loud pipe, I swear it was straight open. The Yoshi gixxer hammering past followed by the 750 on the back wheel was memorable, especially as the cop coming head on the other way would have got a perfect view, you were after all, in his lane and you are a lucky bastard for not getting pulled. It was good to have you guys up front though, sweeping the road so to speak, esp on the run back to Miranda, 200+. Cheers. :msn-wink:

Gives me a nice warm feeling watching bigger bikes disappearing in my mirrors... :Pokey: :devil2:So what feeling do you have when they are not?
The following is not about you Myvice, just a general rant:
Leaving Coro and going down hill I was having a hard time getting pass all the bikes not using their mirrors. I don't mind being past. I'll even make space for you if I see you gaining on me. But it fu*ks me off if I'm following a rider that's cornering slower than myself and I'm hard up their arse, and they don't make some room. If you were that good I wouldn't be that close to you. Make a hole and let the faster rider past. If you really are as fast as they are, then they won't get that far ahead of you. Most riders I let past soon slip away ahead of me, so there was no point in holding them back was there. End Of Rant.
All in all, still a fu*ken good ride.

Nothing special recorded - first time with the camera & all but the good news is the camera survived the bin & I WILL GET BETTER>

Have to second what RiB says about people not moving over. I thought having HDTboy running interference for me might have made a few folk aware others are coming but no.

As for the 250 guys patting themselves on the back for being so fast. Well its easy to ride bikes that are light and don't need to slow for corners. Maybe the should try a powerful bike like the "busa" and see what happens when a handful of throttle applied at the wrong time can do between two slow corners. Still I loved it when I had a small bike picking on bigger bikes when I was learning. :2thumbsup

But what a great ride.

If I was responsible for holding anyone up by not using my mirrors I apologise, gotta take it a little easier with a passenger and the mirrors on the k5 need a little elbow tucking to see much more than leather!

I had a great ride and so did Ana on the back, hopefully next time she'll be on her own two wheels. I think the one litre club doing wheelstands past us at highspeed have inspired her!! Opo is a definite possibility, I'll be playing catch up again on the Saturday but am keen for the trip.

Now I just need to get a new rear for the k5, found a nasty split on Sunday so it's only good for commuting at the mo, sucks ass cos I reckon it's still good for another thousand k's. I may give the Avon Viper a try is I can get a good price.

Not all on the 250's are out there going to 100% of the bikes capability, but when you are on a 250 the most fun is pushing it as close to the limit as you can, which im pretty sure bar one of us (HDT) we probably werent that close to the limit. I know i could probably get 5-6secs off my time at Pukekohe but thats a different story...

On the road its about enjoying your bike as much as you want to. On a 250 its just much easier to push it than it is on the bigger bikes and even though we dont tell ya we do give you guys some *gangsta voice* MAD RESPECTS */gangsta voice*

And, you do not know what fast is, you think you do, but you don't. "tryin to prove a point"?, if you knew fast road riding you would know i was far from being aggressive. A good rider on a GSXR1000 should leave me for dead any where, and should have no problems overtaking my 90hp (if i'm lucky) VTR. It was obvious you're a bit scared to twist that throttle thou, so if you did, you know i would be right behind you.

Who was that Woman on the side of the road when we stopped just before Whitianga? (i think) .. she didn't look happy

I think she was doing a rain-dance........ "maybe if I can get it to rain, that will slow the noisy bastards down."

Night started at 7pm, Drank, Danced and chatted up a chick for the next 4 hours, took chick back to mine, chatted for an hour, {Not work safe}:doctor: untill about 7 or 8, then kinda dozed till 9 and jumped on the bike.

Man what a night it was.

:sweatdrop

i'd hate to think how long you had to work to pay for that... must have been harder than the time you got with her, or do you normally have problems in that department?

I did see a few people waving/fisting at me to slow down, however when i looked down at the speedo i was still within the limit (less than 10kmh over), i will admit to fanging it a bit up around the coast but i know the first few 'towns' quite well...

Rightly so too. I'm doing 50 in the 50 zones from now on when on rides
and you do realise that that means doing 50kph in 6th gear, not 1st...??

the prob is you can hear 30 bikes for a couple of miles before you get to town so the locals are allready thinking what the fu#k is that

i think you missed the point about the minute man thing

compare our times at puke, and then see what the fastest bikes are doing and you'll see what i mean :niceone:

it's ok to be sexually inept but bragging about imaginary experiences doesnt do good for your rep

Yes, this is correct a whisper quite bike, would seem a lot 'slower' to the casual observer. This is offset by people not only not seeing you, but not hearing you if your quite.
Personally i would rather cage drivers heard me coming as clearly they are largely blind. and as previuosly mentioned slowing down to very close to the posted limit around towns etc

As i recall, with 30kph less top speed, less acceleration, an oversized rear tire, nil previous track experience, i was only 5secs slower than your bike.

Are we talking wheels or body ????:whocares: If I have clear visiability and there is no on-coming traffic, I'd happy cut a corner (this corner had clear vis). I just don't do it on a blind one (don't want to loose my head to an on-coming truck, aye).
