No, that's not a reference to my last missus. Not directly anyway. But I digress, let me introduce Suzy. The extreme beast

It's a peg draggin' slut. and very slow. It does wheelie, but that's neither big, nor clever

I got given it a while back, she hasn't run for 10 odd years.
Last Sunday a few mates and I decided to investigate.
Seized rear brake, meh hammer.
Seized motor
otherwise... fine
So off came the head, much CRC later and some gentle taps with a large hammer and a block of wood, it started moving.
Cleaned up the bore.
Nailed it back together.
Fresh petrol, very poorly mixed.
And it started and ran as sweet as a peach.

Then we had to fix the rest of it, unsiezed the throttle, cleaned the carb, made an air filter and most importantly, painted the zorst and rims matt black.

So, ideas for mods? It's begging for a pipe and raised ports, p'haps a VM14 too?

You mean she's not going in the boot of the car in case you breakdown and need to get home?

Had one identical to that, minus lots of the rust, for zipping to work when I was in Auckland. Was easier to get through all the walkways and parks than the car.:Punk:

Do you really drink Tui-???

Fuck no, horrid shit.

After humming around on the beast all week I had to fill it up. Bloody dear, took 1.7L
Have had a terminal velocity of 50 on the flat after scraping the zorst port.
The float needle is leaking on and off, so I'll give that a birthday too

Brakes are still scary-bad. No skids :weep:

I used to look after about 25 of those things in a rental fleet....and had one myself. Freeing the piston with a hammer and block of wood rings a bell. I made a new muffler out of a Seagull exhaust, had to fluff around with baffles and stinger, but ended up with the fastest FA50 I'd ever ridden...top speed wise. They have a weight limit, but of course you can't tell that to a rental customer, so broken rear spokes and buckled wheels were our most common problem. The ambulance drivers liked them, spending summers applying bandages and plucking gravel from bikini clad girls.

Apparently if you're over 70kg, you're too fat  I'm rather less, so that's okay

I'll be looking in to making a pipe for it. I'll give it some compression too.
Looking at the barrel, the ports go down further than they need to, so I can simply deck the top by 1mm and raise the base in 0.5mm steps and see what works best :niceone:
Try to pull over 60ks out of it?

That's what I'd get out of mine, stock they flatline at 50kph, even out of the 23rd floor.

You talked me in to it!
But I have decided to finish Le Geoff GN first. Speaking of, barrel has been honed on it, so it's all ready to go together. I just have to wait for my m14x1.25 tap to turn up in the mail for the crank pulley bolt

You know WPA massive will want you then. Oh dear God, no!
Flat MX bars and rear sets should fix that? I'd look like origami riding it though...

You run a pipe on yours? Quite interested to see what I can get out of it with simple playing around.
I'll do a plug chop and see what's going on
I believe you can pull a tiny bit moar speeds from these flavour boxes by running a slightly thinner synth oil and around 350ml instead of 500?
