Thunder has just reached the east and the rain has been on and off all day. Wind has just picked up heaps as well.

I managed to get to work with a small 30min gap in the weather. With all this wind i'm looking forward to the ride home. :corn:

Hailstones ffs.Yep, twas riding to work this morning (takes me a whole 15mins) and I was 2 mins away from the front door having evaded the rainclouds when suddenly all these lil' white balls started raining down from heaven upon me...was all wet in about 20 seconds. Sheesh, not a good start to a Monday morning I thought! :crazy:

Worse thing is when all those little cold white bastards hit your chest then drop into your lap - and you ride along for 15km wondering why your crutch is so cold when it hasn't hailed for 10 minutes or so..... and when you stop and look down it looks like somebody has slit a bean-bag into your lap, doh! :blah:

I think real heavy hail is the worst of all to ride in, boy those stones can really work you over. It doesn't usually last long though, does it. Adverse conditions are probably much harder to deal with in the cities because of all the other mad bastards you have to cope with as well. I sure as hell don't envy you guys, it's like riding through a mince meat machine. :shit: Cheers John.

Mrs What? and I were in downtown Sydney during The Big Hail Storm (1999). Now that was hail! (stones up to size of ruggerby balls shown in newspaper, but the ones I saw were more like softball size)

I copped the hail about 5 minutes from home. It's kinda cool (geddit?) to feel these things pounding on your helmet and gear but not hurting. Wouldn't want to get hit by testicle size ones though.

huh, I rode thru the hail last night.. The road just went white, not had that before. And I didn't realise at the time, that I had my visor up slightly to stop fogging up. And the hail can find this! ouchie.. wasn't slippy at all, but then again I don't think it was enough to compress on the road and tread. Get to leave cool tyre marks on the road tho
