There's bound to be diesel for AGES even after the claim to have cleaned it up. Must be bad to take out a cage.

Both. two separate incidents. After you slide off in the diesel, the petrol will cook you.

Seriously, folks, watch out, cos even once the fire guys have cleaned it up, there's bound to be some still around. Could be weeks before it's all gone.

They'll put another 5 cents a litre on now, citing shortage of supply.

just so you know...fire not ALLOWED to clean it off the road with water...politically incorrect, might damage someones foreshore or waterways,
too bad if it kills a motorcyclist or two!!

they used kitty litter absorbant material, detergent and lots of sweeping but due to porous make up of motorway seal (not your usual city style tarseal) it could keep coming to surface especially on wet days and extreme hot days... I will be riding the straight southbound from Alfriston Road overbridge to and including the Takanini off ramp really carefully for quite a while....Cheers all
