Is it just me, or is Courtney Duncan actively not being recognised for her results this year?? It looks to me like she had a solid round 3, finished 2nd to Natzke in the first two races, but the bikesport.co.nz articles don't even mention her, more focussing on Broad and Chase after the obvious Natzke blurb (and man I am looking foward to seeing him ride in Europe too!).
Granted those guys are quick, but Courtney hauls ass! I hope she gets back to the states soon to finish what she started!
I don't know if she has been trying to keep a low profile, but I doubt it, when there are sponsors to be acknowledged...
Since Katherine Prumm unfortunately had to retire, I have been patiently waiting for another female talent to arrive, so I can show my daughter what the girls are capable of.

she rode much better in this round than any round this year or last, a few years ago she was easily the fastest in the 125 class, top qualifying every round and winning a heap, that has not been the case since she got back from the states and over her injuries,
apprantly she was trying to get to Europe for a couple of rounds of the World Champs, but the rumours on the weekend is that it has fallen though, hopefully she can get their tho, but I think riding a 250F would be the go,
its tuff for the woman at the moment, the US series has gone back to the amatuer races so the support has dried up as has the media coverage,
The World series would be expensive to do the whole series, with Qatar and Thailand rounds being very expensive, and even the Euro rounds having High entry fees,
Ill be following how Natzke goes in EMX125 Closely, its not going to be easy, but he has some pace, and a very good team there, he has the right tools for the job, he just needs to get it done,

as for Bikesport, Andy writes for a lot of different people, and posts most stuff on his site, he has done many stories on Courtney over the years, and this week he chose the battle for 2nd in the championship, I dont take it as a slight on Courtney at all,
Since he is contracted to a number of different distributors to get stories out, you will see a number of different stories come out,
also since MNZ currently has rounds of Road Race, MX, Cross Country and Enduro on, there is a heap for him to write,

Thats a shame, although I can understand the costs involved versus minimal return. I'm a little dissapointed the yanks have downgraded the womens class, I hadn't heard that, especially after the hype they got when Courtney was over there on the message boards, but I guess those instances are fleeting in the greater scheme of things.
Andy does a great job getting the stories out, and I can also understand you can only write so much. Our sport has a relatively limited platform online to get that info out, so in that regard, we are pretty much spoilt that he puts the effort in that he does. I guess as a reader, you expect to see every bit of detail condensed into as little a space as possible, without factoring in what it actually takes to get that done.
I certainly wasn't intending to slight what he has been putting out, was just expecting to see at least a mention of her results, considering the amount of time she has had off the bike.

yeah, i am a bit sorry for the woman to be down graded as well, but I have watched them live, and the top 5 are pretty good but it goes down hill pretty fast after that, and some of the woman on teh WMA circuit were pretty average, I think racing next to the men made it look worse as well, as those tracks got mighty rough and knarly, with the 1 day format that the AMA series runs, there is not a lot of time for anything extra, after each class has 4 practices (2 each group) an LCQ and two motos,
Courtney is the fastest female i have ever seen, not even Katherine or Tania Satchwell won junior titles like she did, a top 5 for them was pretty good, infact i think 6th in a NZ champs was the best Katherine or Tania ever did, its a shame the world and AMA series and teams are not where they were in the late 00's when Katherine was over their

All very good points Scott The GP's are so expensive to get into and a competitive bike 50g including spares etc.
They used to run the Women with the EMX European MX class a stand alone series which is a feeder series of 80/150four stroke/125/250F and MX3 .
A lot of the current MX2 made their mark in this series and it's almost as cut throat as a GP .
Would like to Ms Duncan at the World Champs but unless she's got a big sponsor the chances are minimal if your struggling on a budget , win in Aussi first as this may jar some doors open.
