It's a phased replacement, not all happening at once, so the oldest BMWs get replaced first.

He's the boss tho, so maybe he'll ... acquire it

That said, I wasn't aware Honda had an authority model, nor was it "manufactured" and rather was retro-fitted. There are less than a handful of manufacturers with actual factory authority models.

No pics in the article either

Especially given the heading says "New Police motorcycles launched (+photos)" and the URL includes the e photos.

Article does say lights etc integrate at manufacture stage

Stupid phone / Tapatalk, apologies in advance.

He murmured something about them coming on here a few months ago.

Pretty sure those side cases have heat lamps to keep the doughnuts warm ;)

Yes, but you remember what happened the last time one of the coppers put one too many doughnuts in...

I liked the comment

"In about two-thirds (66 percent) of motorcycle crashes involving a collision with another vehicle, the other vehicle bears the primary responsibility."

So our acc levy's will be coming down :brick:

I liked it, too. But wrong thread.

Looking forward to a ride report on the factory fitted ST's. Can't beat factory fitted IMHO.

Well, how many bikes have gone up in smoke (and lots of flames) in the last 5 years?

On the other hand, 50% of their "fleet" is being upgraded. Counties gets none... (but Counties did just get a new BMW last year? maybe the previous year...)

No, because further up they trot out the tired old lie “Motorcycle riders are the highest-risk group on our roads, being 19 times more likely to be killed or injured than car drivers over the same distance travelled,”

Well we are getting better. Riders used to be 20 times more likely to be blitzed. :pinch::pinch:

Let's blame it on the ST... I'm sure if it had been a BMW it wouldn't have happened :dodge:

In Britain those bikes have a reputation for developing a weave at speed. They don't all do it but some do and nobody knows why. Maybe a year ago now one of the top Brit Police instructors was killed on one and apparently he wasn't the first. I'll just be glad nobody is asking me to ride one.

Same bikes or retro fitted? I know they had a bad weaving rep a few years ago due to weight and it's distribution. Hence my interest in factory fitted.
