"America... just a nation of two hundred million used car salesmen with all the money we need to buy guns and no qualms about killing anybody else in the world who tries to make us uncomfortable."

"I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me."

Highly recommend the doco "Gonzo". Goes a long way to explaining the man, the myth, the legend that was Hunter S Thompson. Certainly helpful to understand "Fear & Loathing in Vas Vegas" as with out the doco it's pretty much a dead end drug fueled bender with a lot of awkward scenes.
