So I was astride my bike getting ready to go back to work having got my Subway for lunch from the Barrington Mall today when this old boy rolls up, stops in front of me and says "I'll give you a race". I looked at his ride, saw the twinkle in his old eyes and after a moment said "Sure" then asked him "Hey can you wheelie that thing?". He threw his head back and roared with laughter like he'd never heard that line before ... then rolled off down the footpath on his mobility scooter. I'm still smiling over that encounter 5 hours later.

You Guys! Come on now, expecting us to believe that you'd drag off a mobility scooter, hell, they're easy.

Many years ago now when I was in high school, one of the field trips my computer science class took was to a place which designed/built speed controllers for mobility chairs. They had a test pad of various materials, concrete, carpet, etc, which one day they took to with a chair that had the controller completely bypassed and the motor wired for maximum current.

Result, carpet torn to shreds and black stripes on the concrete!
