OK insomniacs what's your best picks for decent podcasts?
Freakanomics is good despite the American voices.
BBC radio 4 has some gems on it like Clive James point of view and History of the world in 100 objects (sounds boring but great once you get into it).
So sugest-

I'm not an insomniac, so I listen to Danny Baker (BBC Radio 5) on Sunday mornings with my fry-up.

Ok. Invisabilia seems good but in listen mode it seems to stop at the crucial moment.
OK sorted by using FM player

What's 'listen mode" What device are you using? If you're on Android, I recommend Pocket Casts. Not free, but totally worth a few bucks.

Not downloaded, live feed. Changed to FM player & all good.
And Invisibilia is great, thanks again.

Do you guys get a tv show called Maron? It's a dry as fuck show about a guy that runs a podcast from his garage. Worth a look imo.

Good history as I feel that there is always more to learn from the past.

Three in my list are all related to one show on Triple J in Australia. Dr Karl Kruszelnicki has a one hour show on Thursdays where listeners phone in with science questions, he attempts to answer them or endeavours to find out the answer.
The hour long show (no music in podcast so only 40-45 mins) podcast is "Dr Karl on triplej"
He has a short snippet played on air on tuesdays i think, podcast is "Dr Karl's Great Moment in Science"
and he has another new podcast with a bloke who has his doctorate in mathematics (and was/is a presenter on triple j) called "Sleek Geeks"

I listen to quite a few podcasts, I'd recommend Edumacation and Hollywood Babble On both with Kevin Smith (the director), Completely Unnecessary podcast for those into gaming and Penns Sunday school with Penn Jillette (of Penn & Teller). Always looking for more, would especially like to find something else similar to Edumacation as it only comes out about once a month normally.

Thanks for the leads
Skeptics Guide To The Universe, The Infinite Monkey Cage.
Both pretty nerdy but that's me.
I also like The Bugle and History Of The World In 100 Objects.

Wish they kept going with history of the world, but the clue is in the title I guess.
Wish it was insomnia keeping me up instead of a screaming 4 yr old.

Look it up on wiki, clearly if you're up it would be a good time filler. Basically its public radio on demand. Start off with BBC documentaries to get the taste for it.
