Putting one of these on my bike ATM. Had a look about to see if there was a viable do it yourself option but could not find anything. Although it all seems very simple, it has a compact and rugged design and once installed it makes it pretty easy to just hardwire in any device you want. I bought it primarily to connect up running lights so it could be switched with the key. Is rated up to 30amp but there is a 40amp option as well. It connects straight to the battery and uses the tail light as a trigger wire so you can run stuff with the ign off but on park. Cost me $145 delivered from Japan.

Haven't used this particular product but have bought quite a few bits and pieces from Eastern Beaver, always top notch well made product, quickly dispatched.
He's got a great range of OEM style connectors etc too for anyone doing restoration or bike projects.

Cheers for the link. I would like a H4 kit that leaves the low on when the high is on.
