Where do I buy these? Looking for a water proof suit to go over my leathers on track days, which have the slider cutouts and hump. I found a revit set for close to $300, is there any other option?

Is there any other option?

Yes. Go to a Macpac outlet and buy a set of their leggings and jacket. Get sizes big enough to go over your leathers. These are waterproof and breatheable. They're way better made than anything thought up by a motorcycle apparel manufacturer and way cheaper than so-called "top end" purpose-build motorcycle wets. They pack up nice and small and shake dry. They're what I use and I wouldn't use anything else.

Do not, under any circumstances, buy a onesie.

Please tell us more-what type of Macpac wets and why not a one piece?

A lof of rain suits are made from nylon. These would be horrible to use on a track as they cause you to slip a lot on the bike. You will have a lot of trouble hanging on.

I was recently tossing up with the idea of wearing them *under* my leathers,

Thanks for asking:

One-pieces are staggeringly impractical. They're hard to get on, and even harder to get off, particularly if there's any adhesive water between the onesie and one's leathers.

They've got bugger-all pockets (a great idea, because those would only get filled with water) but access to pockets in the garments beneath becomes quite difficult because there's generally only this one really long zip...

If one has been riding for a while, one's bladder fills and one may wish to have a wizz. Finding Nemo beneath multiple layers, each with a zip and related alignment issues, can be problematic. Also note the above comment about getting the ferking thing off. Taking a dump also raises offing issues, or wizzing issues if one is either female or a bloke who prefers to wizz from a seated position.

Cuffs really should go over gloves when it's raining. Onesie cuffs are generally too snug to enable that, which means one's gloves will fill with water. Nice.

Onesies really require a sympathetic riding partner to assist with the hitching and tugging necessary for adding and removing. And with spare easily-accessible pockets to carry one's wallets, phones and other such paraphernalia. Preferably a riding partner of the same gender may be required, so as to avoid kaze complications when wizzing or dumping. Unless one happens to be uncomfortable with some other bloke trying to rip one's kit off in a gents' toileting establishment.

Do not buy a onesie. You have been warned!

My cuffs easily go over the gloves and velcro shut.

Next time there's a wet GP take note of what the GP riders do. Most wear a clear plastic jacket over their leathers. They omit the trousers and put up with the resultant wet arse - but they are hard bastards. I assume they do this because the plastic pants would feel totally different to what they experience when they move around on the bike in their leathers.

Rossi has/had super expensive water proof leathers, most just wear those clear plastic jackets. Sometimes the jackets blow apart in the wind so they would need to be fairly cheap.

Be warned they tear incredibly easy though! I just ungraded from the cheap warehouse ones and first casual outing I got a nice big tear in the leg :brick: (plus a wet crotch, but it was hosing to be fair)

Rebel Sport sell some that have been recommended on here. My leathers don't have the hump part but haven't had a problem with getting pants over sliders and if you get ones with long enough zips they'll rock over your boots too.

Also on the onsie rain suit front, I'm keen to try one as after a decent amount of time hammering through the rain it always seems to leak through the pant and jacket overlap/stomach first for me.

Anyone can recommend any real waterproof gloves? Mine is bloody soaking wet during heavy rain and it claimed to be waterproof!

Just get wet like everyone else who hasn't parked up in the sheds. Spare wheels and wets is money better spent.

You could try these, supposed to have a flash new method of waterproofing that's bonded to the inside of the leather:

Bit pricey but might be worth it if they live up to the claims.

Can vouch for these, but it's another layer to put on:

Thanks! I saw very good reviews about rain off gloves, is this really work? I don't mind another layer as long as it keeps my hands dry.

Yup, they really work. The drawstring on them is easy to use too. I have the lobster (two fingered) version.

Nice, I will try it. How about any 100% waterproof jacket you reckon? Would one of those warehouse rain jackets good enough for wearing over a leather jacket if it rains?

No. Well not for a long ride. Zip doesn't seal.

Kathmandu had a much better one on sale for $20 more just recently though.

Different strokes for different folks.

I bought an Oxford one for 40GBP in UK over ten years ago, its NEVER leaked and is no drama to put on or take off, like anything you have to think about the process and find a way that works for you.
I've worn it at a track day at Taupo that turned wet and plenty of wet touring miles on GSXR. Yes seat can be slipppy but makes you smoother and think about where your weight is. Could always put a strip of inner tube rubber across seat for grip...
I think the big problem is in the past (about 10-15years ago) most of the entry level rain gear coming into NZ via MC distributors was absolute shite and left many people with bad taste in mouth and wet arse... A onsie rain suit also packs up real small. Another option is $2 shop disposable rain ponchos and some duct tape....

I have a WFO one piece rain suit, brilliant. Never leaked and I have had it for years.:Punk::Punk:
Now someone just needs to invent a helmet with an extended section up the middle to keep my mohawk straight.

Rain-off are now AU based. I have tried a local supposed stockist (listed on the rain-off page) but they can't help any more.

I have a pair of english frank thomas winter gloves that are waterproof, from memory they cost an arm and a leg I got them from a bike shop in London about 15 years ago.

I have a 2 peice cordure suit that is very warm and waterproof, dont wear it often and not since I have lived on the east cape. Its brand has a armidillio on it but cant think what it is.

I don't wear this gear often. Good to have but its just too warm for NZ unless you live below Christchurch and ride in the winter.

Kathmandu on the grand scale of things aren't that flash with any of their products.

Better to look at proper Hunting apparel
I use a HUNTECH wading jacket for emergencies as well as a proper motorcycle one piece over suit, but during a 200km ride back to Wellington at the height of the Manawatu floods a few years back the only part of me that kept dry was my upper half just due to the jacket
