Hi,
Just got my first bike (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=15973&page=3&pp=15); only came with one key. Looks a bit different to my car key, is there anywhere in particular in Auckland City you need to go to get a key for a 91 Kawasaki cut?
Cheers

Lucky Bugger, you are near one (Mt Wellington for your location??)
Alert Locksmiths is on Marua Road (map attached). I went there. First tried a key cutter at Botany Downs Town Centre, but apparently they aren't allowed/don't have motorbike keys.

There is a place on the corner of Panama Rd and Mt Wellington Highway that does most bike ones. And another in Otahuhu, on the corner of Atkinson Ave and (I think) Mason Ave. If not that corner the next one . On the right going south.

Depending on the condition of your original (mine is shagged and weak from bending and being bent straight) its probably best to keep the original as the last resort, I think they usually have an identifier on them or something which makes it easier to re-cut.
I had 2 copies made and keep one as a spare and the original is also stored.

Yea the original is a bit ruff, keeping it aside sounds like a plan. Bikes 14 Yrs old, so to be expected I guess.

Thinking back (well, it was only 5 months) I think it was $8.00 per key. Then I told him I wanted one of them rings as well and he never charged me
A whole 50c saving...
