Road trip (except with 4 wheels) with a mate to go mountain biking around Rotorua, Taupo, maybe Pureora or Whirinaki and then Te Miro on Monday on the way north.
Haven't done most of it, so should be good fun (provided I don't fuck myself up like last time) :ride:

Picking up the DR800s and then sadly looks like I am having to put my kids down...:(
The GSH brother and Sister are old now and I have been putting it off for some time, so will have to do it.
To take my mind off things, a ride on the Saturday and Sunday will be in order I think.

I'm heading up to the National Sidecar rally at Miranda on Sunday, otherwise around home with in laws staying, fixing the accelerator cable on the DS80 so we can sell it and whatever.

Staying put... can't be bothered dealing with the traffic... and who needs long weekends when you're retired?

Methinks you are talking about the Kauaeranga valley. :msn-wink: The gorge in question is a little further south, on the way to Waihi or Katikati.

Really sorry to hear about your kids Mark, I guess they are the 2 we met years back at Waiouru? Life can be cruel.
I have a 15yo topo who is deaf and has arthritis badly in her hind legs, otherwise fine, for now. The inevitable is looming but.
The ride will help, only briefly, then back home.............................................. ................................
Sincere condolences.

sadly looks like I am having to put my kids down...No, not for the time being.
Thanks for that and yes, you did meet them. :)
But.....They are still with me. I changed my mind after some great response and help/comments support, whatever we call it here on Kiwibiker....
They aren't ready and for what it is worth, they sort of told me and have looked me in the eye and all is good for the time being...
Once again thanks...

No right to let public see his distaste, smle and say nice things is what he should do.Bet the prick was wearing sunnies too, hate that in a copper! Hiding I reckon.
Mateeeeeeee, egg's, lotsa em, our girls gave us heaps of good'uns this year. With bailey an Guinness centres yum!
Ratbag and i both rode down to RotoVegas on Friday, father took a turn and visited the hospital, he got out yesterday, so we bolted back to Dorkland then, glad we did, no rain yesterday, but plenty today. Missed the bulk of the traffic, had to left hand skirt about 5 K's worth of stopped vehicles from HD to Te Kauwhata where where the roqd becomes 1 lane form 2, simple shit that motorists don't get, leave a gap, miss one out leave another gap, everyone gets merged no need to slow down. Na NOT our boys an girls, wer'e Kiwi's an we do what we want push, shove, stop, curse, fucking wait.
Bike, only way to travel on any long weekend.

Spent a few days riding rivers, hills, swamps and tussock tops over easter. 67kms of some pretty rugged passes through the hills towards janes peak. No major damage apart from the camera, which was a victim of my inability to pick a decent line through a river crossing. Bro's dr took a drink at the same crossing too, and needed a little draining and straightening.:Punk::Punk:

Weather was good mostly, apart from some low cloud(1126mtrs) not too hot, and a little cloudy. Humidity did encourage some pretty hungry sandflies at the first campsite, but second camp was above the bushline in the alpine, so none of the bastards up there.:Punk::Punk:
