Plan to visit Argentina around late Feb next year for 6 weeks and was thinking of doing a motorcycle tour for 12 - 18 days. Have been inspired after seeing the film "Motorcycle Diaries" as the countryside looks great.Time will be the biggest factor and I see the distances are vast. Wouldn't mind hiring an adventure style bike and go on an organised tour.
Has anyone done a tour on motorcycle around Argentina / Chile boarder area? If so I'd be interested on hearing your opinions of where to go / visit and any words of wisdom ?.

Is it too late for me and Vicki to hate you as well? (will forward sizes and taste in bikes / jewellery later)
Oh well...
It can get hot so if it is going to be summer I'd suggest investing in a pair of large camel back thingies so you can take advantage of bottled water etc and stay hydrated.
Have fun - take pictures - enjoy

Sadly all the poverty struck students and apprentices have moved home to totally trash the place.... Whats worse, daughter number 1 and family have moved to the north island so I now get the grandkids as well.... (which I kinda like)

I picked up a brochure at the NEC show for H-C tours, who do things all over the world. If you plan to go ahead with this, let me know, and I might try and join the same tour, depending on price. Was considering seeing some of South America at the end of my 2 years, and this may give the prod that actually gets me there....

Posh ,
If all goes to plan we'll (wife & I) be doing a 14 day tour in March 06 , Will know more late December. We'll probably spend a couple of weeks in Buenos Aires as well dancing in Tango halls.

I think I'll pass on the Tango halls.....
Seeing South America would be nice though. I'll go all out to learn as much Spanish as I can while I'm there over the next three months.....

John, thanks for advice regarding transalps, we are hiring the 600 cc models. They will use a lower seat (800mm) for the wife so she will be fine.
