FYI there was a show on TV a few years back when there was a big 'buy USA' push in the USA. The show went into a couple of typical USA homes and removed any item not made in the USA - the houses were practically empty after they finished.

This post began by someone making a disparaging remark about someone's sexuality and the brand they ride. I stated I didn't care about this stuff. I was jumped on by someone who lives in Mommies house on the benefit and bought a 'puter at the opshop and plugged it in and now can hide in the basement and shoot out insults w/o having to venture into the street where they would never have the balls to say such things. I said nothing bad about a Honda.

I have stated over and over "buy what you want and ride the hell out of it", not sure how it morphed into I hate honda and their riders. I would not own one. The Swanni remark is because I as well own many of the pre-ChiCom manufacture, it is sad a Kiwi institution went off shore. Thank god Swazi still makes their stuff in-country.I come to NZ 2-4 times a year and have done so since 1970. I will be there in a few weeks to see my daughter graduate from Uni. She chooses to live in NZ, all my kids (4) have dual citizenship. I have a grandson there and have been married to a Kiwi girl since Christ was in Kneebritches. Especially with cheap nasty quality imported goods all the while sticking the knife into local manufacturing. Our shops are full of cheap nasty Chinese made rubbish. The Chinese are very capable of building good quality products, but are held back by cheap skate buyers saying they only want to spend a pittance. Result - cheap shoddy goods made to a "price". We can all stand around pointing the finger and appointing blame, but in reality - we the consumers were in the driving seat the whole time. what a shame we were asleep at the wheel. We could of stopped it by continuing to buy the more expensive but better made local products. The bull has well and truly bolted now, so off to the warehouse we go.

But the XR500A & CB900FA were great old beasts.
