Does anyone use this? How does it go for you?

Playback for me is choppy to the point of unwatchable. I have ultrafast fibre at the top speed, and have been in touch with spark's tech support. I've done the whole dead chicken waving thing, and have come to the conclusion that the service is just not up to it. Task manager indicates there are still plenty of resources available, so unlikely a PC spec issue.

Anybody heard anything about it? At this rate, once my free trial is over it will be a case of fuggedaboutit.

Interesting, please keep us updated.

(
I nearly signed up for Lightbox, for the 12 month free trial, being with Spark. I backed out when they wanted my credit card. (Trust them?!). But since then, I've signed up for the 1 month trial of Netflix - and I did give them my CC. So maybe I will go back and try Lightbox.

In the mean-time: Netflix has been rock solid. Haven't had a single issue. I'm just on ADSL2+, but am in Tawa, not out in the back country.

With Netflix so good, we dropped our second Sky decoder - God that stuff's expensive by comparison! If it wasn't for the Rugby, and this being one of those years, I'd drop Sky altogether. I'd still be saving money if I had Netflix + Neon + Lightbox!

The free 12 month trial is actually free ( to Spark customers ). I also wondered why they asked for credit card details upon signing up and looked out for a charge on my statement ( no such thing as a free lunch right? ) but much to my surprise, it's actually free and pretty damn good I must say :)

Yeah, I just didn't trust them, security-wise, with my details.

The way it works is once the free trial is over, they figure you'll just stay signed up and they begin charging. Same as with Netflix.

How are you watching lightbox? A laptop, or machine attached to TV?

PS4 attached to TV, all in HD. Again, very impressed with lightbox. I'm watching...
Better call Saul ... good , but certainly not as good as Breaking Bad,
Vikings ( amazing show, loving it )
Outlander (now this really surprised me! Loving it )

Also, watched a few old Seinfeld shows, had 2 see the Soup Nazi again.

Worst thing about it is that it's kept me away from the bike.

I'm trying to watch it on PC desktop monitor.

Ok, graphics card (and or age of machine) and how is it cabled to the monitor?

Reason I'm asking, is because a client has found out that HDMI + crappy graphics card lead to seriously bad rendering on the screen...

On top of all that, is the obvious... you say fibre, but who is the supplier? If they have crappy links to Spark (assuming it isn't Spark) then your speed down the street means zip. Of course, if your provider is Spark, then they're running out of excuses :shifty:

It is DVI + not too crappy graphics card Geforce GTX660

Fibre is spark - their top plan

Video render is fine for every other video source I watch.

A hardware upgrade would be nice, but I'm not about to do it just to watch lightbox programs, particularly when I'm not convinced that that is what the problem is.

Snap. Same here. That Vikings is like SOA in boat time. Love it
