So I'm in the process of tearing up and refreshing the whole electrical system on the SR500 and the flywheel and stator are in a heck of a state. Rust all over the place.

I want to clean the flywheel up but I'm not sure about the best way to do it.
Given that it has magnets epoxied into the inside and also an ignition pickup magnet on the outside, I was thinking of using green nylon potscrubber rather than anything metallic.

Has anyone ever tried media blasting on a motorcycle flywheel or have any sneaky tips?

I would go with kero and a scotchbright or 3m cleaning pad if it is not too bad.:niceone:
