The old impulse let me down yesterday. Rang AA waited in the rain and hail for an hour then decided to push the bike back to work about 20 minutes.
By the time I got the place unlocked, contacted the alarm company, unlocked the rollerdoor, got the forkhoist moved the rubbish bin got the car out the AA guy arrived, we spent about half an hour trying to get it going then gave up. by the time I got everything locked up again it was 8pm and I just wanted to get home, on top of that I have the flue too.
Spent about 2 hours working on it today, striped out the fuel pump, carbs etc. could not get fuel down to the carbs.
Ended up drilling a hole in a bottle top, poked the fuel pipe into it, some petrol and squeezed it into the carbs, started straight off, plugged the fuel tank back on and rode it home.

Need get the pump/tap checked out.
Should fuel come running out on prime?
Always have had trouble getting fuel down to the carbs.

Yes fuel should come running out on Prime.
Should run like a tap if I remember rightly. Prime is used to quickly gravity feed fuel into the carburetor float chamber while the engine is off. Frequently used to aid easy starting if she's been sitting idle for several weeks.

If your bike runs fine on 'prime', then my guess is that your fuel tap is blocked or your fuel pump/vacuum isn't sucking strong enough anymore or you've dirt in carburetor.

Guess I'll have to pull it apart and find out why, when it's been sitting for a while I have to use eathar to get it going again.
