View Full Version : Suzuki GSF250 gearbox issue
I bought a 250 Bandit. All gearing seems fine until I get up to the top gear and then it slips.
Has anyone experienced this? (The bike shop says it needs a new fork and gears - about $1000 repair)
Is there anyone who can recommend a place that does replacement or reconditioned motors or something similar?

Sounds like a CLUTCH issue ... but it IS a suzuki.

Explain the slip
Yip, new to biking so maybe not a Suzuki next time LOL, its a project which with my son. It doesn't slip like a clutch would, its as if it does and then grinds and is out of gear. I do think its a gearing problem so if you have any suggestions on repairing or someone who sells replacement motors I think it would be easier than stripping the motor which is a bit too technical for me.

More like a gearbox issue then. Not an issue that can be sorted ... without splitting the cases.
Don't walk away ... RUN ...

Try running a different decent quality oil in it. They can be very fussy little things
