How many of you's have a GoPro and has anyone ever had a problem with their suction cup coming off?
Long story short mine fell off and wasn't tethered to the bike. (good idea in hindsight) however all genuine products were used and I've had no issues in the 5 months I've had it.
I had it mounted to the screen on the least most curved area (at the top in the middle) which is really quite flat.
Bikes aren't square at least not these days and I've had it mounted to less certain areas without issue. Do I have a leg to stand on or should I not bother.
Where can I go to get my poodle clipped?

I don't think posts in threads about dodgy plastic goods count towards a members total post-count.
Poodle grooming, that's a whole different story.

 Any mention of the suction cup I've ever seen has been accompanied with stories of them failing.
Probably why most tether it?

I found the suction mount on the tank showed too much vibration. The camera had to be about 12-15cm above the tank to give a view past the instruments. Now after spending zillions on various mounts, I mount the camera on a $3.40 pipe clamp on the right side fork. This was only meant to be a temporary set up but it works fine for my bike. I will make a tidier looking mount sometime.

Suction cup mount will fail if both surfaces aren't clean. Always teather it, never have trusted it. It is also terrible for vibration.
I don't use a gopro on a bike. First time I used it on a busa I dropped the bike

Thanks for your input. Your setup looks really good, nice and tidy and out of the way.

I wouldn't know, Tinkerbell. You really should learn how to quote people properly too, even boy racers can do it.

This is a still taken off a video I recorded today. Its part of a ride report from a ride I did today. The setting was 960HD which gives a deeper view. http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w420/awa355/Aoteroa%20rd%201.jpg
Here is where I've put the remote (when I bother). Can activate it with my thumb and it can be good for saving battery usage when recording is not desired.

A bit of velcro and a plastic tie keeps it fixed.

Never had the suction cup fail. Had a few people complain about vibrations that had simply put the suction cup on without flicking the locking mechanism down.
The screen probably flexed with the wind and additional weight of the gopro.
Spitting on it before applying helps as well!

I usually record in 720p @60fps in superview as thats pretty much good enough without getting massive file sizes. Here's a picture I got from one of my videos.

Before anyone decides to add their own opinion, the bird was strolling off to the left, I decided to give it plenty of room and at the last second he starts flying toward where I'm heading.

My next titu with the camera is to come up with something similar, so I can swivel the camera slightly to film more of the countryside when the scenery calls for it. Am looking at how to adopt a tripod type head to suit.
