Hi Guys
I’m getting a new seat cover….which should arrive any day now!…..not being brave enough to attempt such a task - does anyone know of any companies based in Chch that can handle the jandal and fit the new cover?

Stable gun + Glue....cant be that easy...?

Cheers

Auto and Marine Tuam Street over Fitz Ave. Did a very nice recover for me a few years back. Also does work on American muscle cars - seen some of this as well and it is top stuff.

These guys put the cover on my present ride (cover purchased from the net) - good job no issues. Bit higher in $ than I expected - get a price first. Again some very nice work on site when I was there. Also won some awards for their custom auto work.

One tip - whoever you use best to arrange to have the bike there so they can test fix. I just dropped the Hornet seat in but when fitting it on the bike the cover had been pulled a bit tight at the front so there was a gap by the tank - I just released it and restapled it myself so it sat correctly. NOT the fitters mistake just a valid point to have the bike there so they can test fit for this very reason as they put the cover on.

Next seat I'll chat to the top one first but not hesitate to use the other again.

Also if you are in or near Halswell there is a guy working from home on hot rods down School Road - I've not used him but his work looks very good (rods parked on the drive/street). Worth a chat if local.

I did my own. Cost me about $25 in glue and I made a mess of my clothes and garage floor plus I stuck my fingers together. I stuck a blade into my Stanley knife and cant get it out. Took me about 4hrs and another 2 to clean up. My fingers were black for just under 4 days until the glue rubbed and pealed off.

It turned out ok but not perfect.
You should do your own also.

So......I can tell you where not to go.. :(

I was in talking with Dan at Motohub- guy walked in- we started talking.....new seat cover came up- he told me to go and see the team at Pacrick Auto trimmers.

So I....dropped the seat off....with the old cover still attached- "Come back tomorrow after lunch" - arrived to find in had been put on backwards....left...came back an hour later...and it was completed...$90

No glue just staples...

I just got my TTR250 seat back....
I removed the old cover cut the foam lower at the front
so it had a step in it....
He made the cover in black gripper fitted it .. no glue just like
Yamaha & Honda do...
Had a couple goes to get the cover to form to the shape right...
cost $65 notes...

Hes now done 3 for me..fitted 2 & made one... I would go back to him...

So would I

He fitted my supplied seat cover, repaired the foam and organised to have the base plastic welded while it was apart
