modern, compact, lightweight, 500cc+ cafe racer?

Anyone have any suggestions for a cafe racer per below

- currently riding GSX250 invader, upgrading to full license

looking for
- cafe style bike
- 500cc - 750cc full power bike not a LAMS bike
- compact / lightweight size (I'm light myself)
- 10k or less

Except the only problem is that everyone who's flogging one on TradeMe seem to think it's a gold-plated unicorn turd and wants stupid money for them.

Other option would be get a 650 Savage and buy a Ryca kit, or one of the new SR500s (except they're EFIed, which defeats the purpose of the SR anyway).

Get an SV650 and do a fighter job on it?

Or build your own one out of some cheap binned piece of shit?

Wasn't one of these it was 20 odd years ago.
I think they launched 3 model straight off the original moulds.
One of them was a diesel motor.

That Continental Enfield looks a honey. While it's made in India there are some fancy names in the equipment list including a frame designed by Harris Engineering in the UK. That seems odd. 52kw @ 6500rpm = 76.39Nm. So max torque can't be 60Nm @ 2500...
