Sooooo many options out there tho...I hope you find what you like, enjoy the hunt :D
edit -...did NOT realise that others had posted the same at the time of postng this lol...at least we know there liked :D (sexy little buggers aint they)
Carbed Triumph Thruxton.
Except the only problem is that everyone who's flogging one on TradeMe seem to think it's a gold-plated unicorn turd and wants stupid money for them.
Other option would be get a 650 Savage and buy a Ryca kit, or one of the new SR500s (except they're EFIed, which defeats the purpose of the SR anyway).
Get an SV650 and do a fighter job on it?
Or build your own one out of some cheap binned piece of shit?

What are the Royals like for resale? They seem a good bet from what I've seen, but I don't look often.

The gas lamp was probably brighter if it's anything like mine, and I have two

Was too hard to find a E stamped flame and I couldn't get the valve for high and low flame to fit on the switch block.

Wonder what they are like now.
Mate bought one shortly after they re opened production lines and it had a casing oil leak within a week.

Wasn't one of these it was 20 odd years ago.
I think they launched 3 model straight off the original moulds.
One of them was a diesel motor.
This one looks very high tech.

found a performance kit of sorts. supposedly 40% more horsepower & better torque.
http://www.hitchcocksmotorcycles.com/accessory-engine-performancekits
Still you're only talking 45 or say even 50HP for a 185kg bike.
Doesn't seem like CBR600RR or Yamaha R6 territory or am i missing something

Possibly. Think AC Cobra kit, great drive but far from modern performance, it's about the machine itself.

That Continental Enfield looks a honey. While it's made in India there are some fancy names in the equipment list including a frame designed by Harris Engineering in the UK. In the last couple of weeks it has been announced that Enfield have bought Harris Engineering but have retained the services of Mr Harris.

I dunno much but what about a W800.
http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/motorbikes/motorbikes/cruiser/auction-893279704.htm
Or they are $13k brand spankers, get an ex demo or 2014 model for less?
217kg wet and brakes aren't exactly modern though (though neither is the 48hp power output).

It's more like 70hp for the W800, the old 650 was 48.

Incidentally, good work whoever managed to get the W650, which is a 676cc motor, onto the "nothing over 660cc" LAMS list...

I wonder if someone did a half-arsed job of updating the spec sheet, because this is the Pipeburn review:
http://www.pipeburn.com/home/2011/05/21/review-2011-kawasaki-w800.html#.VWUvm0YyapQ
Naturally, the engine’s an air-cooled number with a capacity of 773cc. By Kawasaki’s measure, the power produced is around 52Kw (70 hp), up from 37 Kw (50 hp) of the previous model; torque is spun out of the new block at 60Nm (76 ft. lbs.) as compared to the 41Nm (56 ft. lbs.) of the 676cc W650.

That seems odd. 52kw @ 6500rpm = 76.39Nm. So max torque can't be 60Nm @ 2500...

Pretty sure that young lass used to work at BP Tawa. She features in quite a few ads.
