Morning,

I has a 2010 CB1000R that gives out a burning clutch type smell most times I ride it. It's not a strong smell, but its definitely present.
Bike only has 20k on the clock, it doesnt get too much abuse, apart from the occasional bob of the front wheel.
Doesnt seem like the clutch is slipping when you ride it.
Clutch line is hydraulic.
Poor adjustment?

Doubt it'll be the clutch you're smelling unless you're sniffing the oil filer hole with the cap removed.

Sure it's not a dragging brake?

Sure it's not a dragging brake?

Far more likely.

Thanks troops, I'll check if the front brake is dragging.

More likely the rear mate. Easy to get a lil stone or summat jammed on top of the rear brake lever stopping it returning.

Like they say unless you have fluid dripping on the headers. Could be a plastic toy inserted the gap behind your radiator cooking.

I do have a fluffy toy hanging off the left pillion peg, but that's another story.

So I dont often let the bike sit and warm up, I normally start it, and start riding.
Today I let it warm up and noticed that same familiar smell, even before kicking it into gear.
So it's not brakes, and it is unlikely it is clutch.
Hoping it is simply stuff burning off the rad or exhaust, otherwise it might be wiring I guess.

If you have a minor coolant leak it can smell a bit like clutch/brakes when getting burnt off.

Agree with Crasher on this. But also they get funny smells from crap off the road.

Switched chain lube brand to a waxy one and its dripping onto the midpipe?

It's a Honda - could be sperm burning off the muffler exit.

Have you got enough coolant? In the radiator and the bottle? CB made that smell when the bottle was full but the radiator was partially empty.

Stupid phone / Tapatalk, apologies in advance.

Coolant levels are fine.
I do however use Blueray chain oil, sprayed liberally towards the back end of the bike.
That probably answers it.
