My mate brought a 03 yz250, it was running really well, then he stalled it on the weekend and couldn't get it to start again, he brought it to my place on Monday and I did everything I know to get it to start, drained fuel tank and put new mixture in, dismantled carb and cleaned absolutely everything in it, reset float level, new spark plug, checked that the coil was producing a spark, checked compression, etc etc, the fucking thing still wont start, it fired once and revved its tits off for a few seconds then stalled out. Any ideas of what I should do next? It has a fmf pipe and boyesen rad valve, but I don't think these are causing issues as it was running really well before the weekend

May have sheared the flywheel key. Check the timing.

Don't know if it's common with them but it's easy enough to check...

check to see if they are not cracked or chipped, or frayed at the ends,

take the reed block out, and put it up to the light, from the inside, if you can see light past the tips of the reeds, they are no good,
