Do not buy this bike:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=898070882

The exact same bike previously:

312658

From the original owner:

"He had no insurance so the bike was never inspected etc. Never got de-reged. So didn't need to re comply."

If you check the rego, it is still registered as blue and white.

Bit dishonest when advertised as being rare factory pearl white when it was born blue. Might be well repaired but I would say hasn't had any real frame examination. I would be unhappy to buy it thinking it was original.

May be a carefully worded ad? "It is a rare find in the factory Pearl white with black colour scheme which makes it stand out from the sea of blue/white Suzukis..."

Seller doesn't actually say it was that colour when it left the factory, only that it stands out now!

Does seem a bit suspect. Disappointing.

Major crash damage should be disclosed so a purchaser can make an informed decision.

Agree wholeheartedly, however to state explicitly that it is factory fresh and never been dropped is not far short of fraud.

Cost a big penny to tart it up from the mash ball GSXR to the 'as new' pearl one.

Shit though he is very right - it looks great in the white/black colour scheme.

Everyone ask him if it was 'blue' originally - there will be loads of unanswered questions.

Folowed by a post on KB - 'my new GSXR' .....

I read. And I laughed.

Sad though... Someone could so easily have bought it without knowledge of the unanswered suspicions of others.

Does he or doesn't he know it's been in an accident? Not disclosing that, or at the least "not his knowledge".... yeah, I do have an issue with lying.

If he was upfront, hey, it's been in an incident, it's been repaired/checked/you have peace of mind and happy bidding... no problem.

Replacing what was bent is one thing.

Denying that he replaced what was bent, or even acknowledging that it was bent is dodgy dealing plain and simple. The guy is more bent than the bits on the bike were.

Nobbsie

I could be wrong but i "highly doubt" that he has had the frame checked to see if it is bent!

The bike has had an off with the previous owner. However, it has been repaired to a high standard with genuine Suzuki parts and it has been issued a new WOF from VTNZ since then, along with a general inspection at the dealership. The only imperfection I can notice on the bike is some light scratches on the left side of the swingarm, which can be seen in one of the photos.

I thought I'd give him the piss but he's advertised it truthfully explaining it had been involved in a crash then repaired so... No more false advertising (no more pisstake :().

Hope he sells well!

Only because I was privy to additional information that was highly relevant, and not disclosed in the ad - in fact glossed over glibly describing it as "mechanically unmolested". The simple thing would have been for him to do what he has now done, per EJK's quote below, and advised that fact.

Fortunately I'm not selling mine. I don't think the previous owner dropped my bike, but I've lost count. I'm guessing 1-2 dozen. Adventure bikes are good like that

I have noticed and it irritates the fuck out of me. It's some gay little face-saving exercise that no one cares about. I only care if/how it has been dropped, not about by whom.
