So coke bottles are fine, the little bungy cord keeps them nice and secure.

Wine bottles, with their smooth glass finish and tapered shape - not so much.

Much to the Wife's annoyance - here is now a $20 bottle of Sauv somewhere between the Silverdale Pack N Save and my house.

Priorities man, some poor biker is probably gonna get a puncture from your glass now...

That'll teach you for not getting it in a goon bags.

There is also a woman sans wine.... I reckon that could be worse :dodge:

Zip the wine bottles, under your jacket, close to your heart

I must be missing something, why wasn't the wine in a pack, or a tank bag, or anywhere else it couldn't just drop off?

Look on the bright side though; coulda been worse, coulda been Champagne.

Waste of good Sav. Shame.

I'd stick it down the front of my jacket. Could be messy if you binned it - look worse if it was a red wine!

Yo dog, I heard you like boxes.

So we put some wine in your box, so you can put some wine in your box....

When I was doing Fried chicken/Fish n chip delivery on 250 years ago I found large plastic pots of gravy don't travel well on bikes either, especially over railway crossings at xxxkm/h
After dumping a few peoples dinner on their front lawns I learnt to check the bottom of the bag first hehe...

I used to have a bag that was designed for keeping beer cold for golf enthusiasts. It was that chilly bag material, and it had a cord tie with a drawstring toggle and a velcro strap thing. Fucking brilliant - I used to use it for transporting wine on the pushbike. It would work equally well on the motorbike.

No idea where it came from or where it is now.....

not exactly like this but close to it.

for your future reference.

Not a fan of Sauvignon Blanc personally but it would fit a bottle of Dom Perignon or Bollinger quite handily.

Work shoes are about the same size and bungy down easier.

Also the hump has a space about the size of a coke bottle.

A plastic bag and a couple of rubber bands does the trick.

I appreciate this is way OTT but how about a NOS-themed wine carrier? complete with threaded fitting for a temp gauge :sunny:

Is the TheDemonLord breastfeeding?

That would read better if it were ''Is TheDemonLord breastfeeding''? without the extra 'the'? :motu:

Not Edited: for any reason but :niceone:

I had several containers of Chinese food in the top box. Got home to find the sweet and sour all over my wet weather jacket. And I'm gentle round corners too.

I found out the hard way that a motorcycle is probably the best way to move all of a pizza's topping to one side.

Fish and chips down the front of the jacket is good. Tooo hot thoug and grease on the work shirt is not good......

Stupidest load I've carried was quite recently.
Picked up some ingredients for home brew (mostly large bags of grain) and discovered that I couldnt fit it all in the back pack.
So a 15 minute ride with one bag sitting between my bum and the pillion seat, while I rode practically sidesaddle to hold it.
Left it in 3rd the whole way So I didnt have to move my hand from the grain bag to the clutch to change gear.
Never again.

Big Dog
12th June 2015, 13:03
Umm, so why not put the bag of grain between you and the tank?

Stupid phone / Tapatalk, apologies in advance.

It wouldnt sit there.
I miss supersports bikes and their flat tanks. Ideal for boxes of beers and the occasional trip with an xbox.

Learning to change gear without the clutch is a useful skill to have.

Didnt want to have to change down in gear without the clutch if I can avoid it.

It'a a long time since I've seen one of those big bottles that beer used to come in. You could get six in a cardboard box.

Once I bought a half-dozen and put it in the very basic back pack that I owned at the time to ride the ten miles home. Before I was half way home both arms and hands had gone completely numb. Numbness doesn't inspire confidence.

Backpacks are more sophisticated these days but panniers trump them anyway.

I would have thought a sack of grain would "form" around a tank? even a tear drop.
I have had occasions to do just that with 5kg a sack of rice.
P.S. also mean resting on the seat not the top of the tank.

I'm surprised I haven't been pulled up riding through Akl city with the case of beer on my tank yet. I just lean forward and steady it with my beer belly.

It is quite pretty really - the whole circle of life thing. The offspring of the beer supporting the new beer into the world......

Had a friend carry 5 boxes of beers on his tank once. Not well advised, but it worked.
