Hi all,

There is a irritating ticking noise coming from the engine of my 2005 CBR1000rr but when I hold the clutch in it seems to stop.
Any ideas what this could be? Any ideas much appreciated thanks.

Does the pace of the ticking change with the rpm?

If the ticking gets really annoying drop it of at my house.

I probably can't fix it but if it's at my house you won't have to hear the ticking any more.

Stupid phone / Tapatalk, apologies in advance.

Oh Nooooooooooooooo he's back.
The crunchyness is caused by being cooked in engine oil, I'd give them a miss.
Take his republic $5'er though.

Good quality earplugs solve a lot of problems. Not recommended as marital advice btw.

As you can see we are a very helpful bunch ..

The problem could be a number of things ... holding the clutch in making it disappear suggests something in the drive train is either not lined up properly (could be a bearing issue on a gearbox drive shaft) could be the clutch is not square on the shaft (bearing issue) ) through to something in the clutch is contacting something it should not ... pull off the engine side covers and see what is going on ...

On older Hondas this was usually a worn clutch center with too much endfloat....
No idea if the same probs still occur on Hondas, may indeed be a leprecoon.

Keep holding the clutch in ... it wont fix the problem ... but it will cut down on tyre wear ... ;)
