Hi Kiwi ADV Bikers,
new here so I hope that I comply to the forum rules with my first post.
About me: I am in my mid 30th and have been riding bikes all over the planet: Europe, NZ, Asia, OZ etc. I still have my (full) NZ licence even though I currently live in Europe. I have a little son at home, hence nowadays am a careful & responisible rider who likes to come home with body and bike intact at the end of the day.
I will be visiting Dunedin (inlaws live there) from mid October till mid Nov this year and am looking for a friendly bloke who would lend me his dual purpouse bike for 2-3 days.
My research shows that most official bike rental places are either in CHC or around Qeenstown, however I will be in Dunedin and am not so keen to pick up the bike with having to jump in the car for 3 hrs beforehand.
I am looking for is a dual purpose like: KLR650, DR650, DRZ400, F650 GS, F800GS etc. KTM, Honda anything that handles gravel roads as well as tar.
Not really fussy about brands, I do ride an F800 GS at home but have ridden or owned most bikes that I listed above.
Would be really nice if you know someone in Dunedin that could help me out.
Oh, before I forget, the bike will need to be road legal with WoF of course.
Looking forward to hear from you!
