:spudwhat: do what dong are we playing in our heads riding a bike? I dont mean what would you like to listen to. This was brought on by my mate when I told him I had my first ride, he asked what song. At the time it was "your as cold as ice" :cold: 1.it was bloody freezing, and 2. its catchy!

ps. do excuse my d's and s's. my fingers have developed a lisp today. not enough blood :cold: :violin:

Don't know about any doundtracks, but I'm partial to Bombtrack by Rage when I'm going sick.

Depends on mood and how I'm riding at the time. Varies from Nazerath to Pantera and DMX every now and then. Am a bit worried now that I sometimes find myself doing the same as WT....

when I'm racing there's a couple of Def Leppard tracks that come to mind, but almost anything will do when I'm out on the road

You see i'd be interested in one of those helmets that has blue tooth head sets built in an then i could hook up the ipod and i wouldn't have to hum to myself like a looney. Plus i could hook up the mibile as well and be as reckless as your average car driver, however i would pull over, but i wouldn't have to take my lid off. In fact what would be even better, would be if there is a kit you can buy to retro fit your helmet with the blue tooth head set, then i wouldn't have to buy a new lid. The only problem would be changing songs with the gloves on, i mean ipod controls are pokie enough with bare hands.

bloodhound gang: balls out, nice amp up music, but then there's fear factory, soulfly, static X etc. etc. i also listen to jack johnston quite often so i'm not reallllly some sort of heavy metal goth dude, although my leathers are all black.... ok ok i'll stop dribbling

They allready have those, maybe not here but I remember seeing them in every motorcycle related shop and magazine in the states.

At the moment when I go for a ride it's usually Dammit or Rockshow by Blink182. But in saying that sometimes it's Iron Maiden, Killswitch Engage, Mudvayne, NoFX, Pennywise, RATM etc etc and also Pink Floyd, Led Zepp etc etc

Just depends on what I have mainly been listening to before hand and what mood. I have written lyrics while riding pillion too.

3 words: Hard core techno

got some slim headphones inside my helmet
max power (when on the motorway anyway)

fucking great but it makes me do stupid things
thats why if you see me 50% of the time ive got one hand in my pocket trying to change the track.

Listening to the The Offspring (It will be a long time, Nitro, Something to believe in), is bloody dangerous when riding :Police: , you just want to ride it hard :headbang:

Then theres Blink182, Living End etc :niceone:

Ive got the whole compilation thing going......it just skips songs when my riding changes style...:
Disturbed - Land of Confusion
Tool - 46&2
Orbital - Pants
Seether ft amy lee - Broken
Silverchair - Shade
Taproot - Poem
Junkie XL - Beauty Never fades
Avalanches - Frontier Psychiatrist
Timo Mass - First Day.....

The thing I love listening to most is the change in tone and sound of the bike.

Mine is usually "riding along in my automobile" but I change the lyrics all over the place. That usually segues along into Black Betty, and then by the time I've tried to get that out of my head so I can sing a new song, I've got to where I'm going!

if the flatmate spots me putting on my gear for a ride he'll play something like "snappy the little crocodile" or that "Annoying thing/Axel Foley" or maybe the smurf "maccarena". he's got a nasty sence of humour. lol

For whatever stupid reason that I will probably never work out, the song I sing to myself most often while riding (and at no other time in my life) is a rather rude song I learnt in my late teenage years about some Scottish ladies who went to a party
It starts "Four and twenty virgins came down from Inverness, and when the ball was over there were four and twenty less...." etc.
Any else know it? Can anyone explain why I sing it why I'm riding?

SlowHand

is that a way of counting your following distance? one thousand and one virgin, one thousand and two vigins etc?

When i get rid of the voices and the GSXR screaming away at 12,000rpm, at the mo i'm quite partial to Motorhead - Hardcore. But anything heavy.

If I'm booting it I run out of brain for songs.
But when I'm walking towards my bike about to head off somewhere I quite often get Queen in my head - "I want to ride my biCYCLE, I want to ride my bike....." etc etc....

Had the Bluebird song (B-b-b-bluebirds the word) stuck in my head for about 3 hours of wet, cold, motorway riding many years ago.
Wanted to kill someone after that!

Hahaha...damn jingles, don't feed it to the rest of us...

For some reason Bob Marley always comes in to my head down the back straight of Puke...but leaves rather abruptly at the 200m braking marker...

'Lap Dance' by NERD when I'm about to have a go...been my 'bad ass' song ever since that Jet Li movie set in France when he fights the massive black guy.

I've got the damned singing hedgehogs in my head at the moment (thanks WT)

"Oooh baby I'm thinking about your axe wound
Oooh baby I'm thinking about your gash"

etc. Totally inapropriate.

What usually runs through my mind while riding has been forever corrupted by Virago...

"I'm gonna hit the highway like a battery hen, on a silver black mountain bike..."

For all those that are saying that listening to metal when riding make you dangerous... I guess you have to really be in to the music for this but for me when I'm really jamming to something in my headphones my riding gets alot smoother. Yea I go faster and weave about in traffic but it's like my senses rae hightend(sp) so that it feels normal. Not sure if it's true but at times like this I feel like I could actually manage to keep up with some of the better sportbike riders.
