So I recently started looking into an exhaust for my gt250r but I really don't want to drop $300-$500 for an exhaust. Do i have to do anymore work to the bike after installing an exhaust if i do end up getting one? I also heard people drilling holes into their stock exhaust to make it sound louder. Does that actually work? Did it cause any trouble to the bike? Can someone give me feedback. I'm mainly looking for sound for my bike. Thanks in advance.
It's a 2012 if any of you are wondering.

Saw one of the GT650R's the other day with no exhaust, just a hacked off pipe. Certainly was louder and lighter but not sure if anyone appreciated it...

Certainly not if held together with cable ties! I won't name and shame that one that certainly shouldn't be on the road at all though.
