Hi there,

Whilst my bike is getting fixed due to being rear ended, I'm going to buy a bike and on sell in summer, question is which one?

What I'm thinking of:

2014 Kawasaki KLX250, may keep once my bike is fixed, it is a good opportunity to try it out and find out what commuting would be like on a dual sport.
2001 Aprilia RSV1000, I couldn't justify long term ownership of one of these for commuting, so for a temporary bike would be fun, however what is it like on gravel and ice?? I ride about 2 - 3km of gravel each day.
1999 CBR600, Cheapest of the bunch, and more of a middle of both the other two, less likely to kill myself on this compared with the aprilia, plus cheapest insurance oddly.

What do you think?

Bike I currently ride is attached to my profile.

Sports bikes dont sell anywhere near as well during the colder months, so I'd be worried about selling at a loss in winter.

I'd go the dualsport

From a 250 to a 1000cc Aprilia, yeah, Na! you won't be doing anything after the first time you ride that, make sure you are well insured.

I am erring toward the dual sport, as it may replace two bikes I currently have, hopefully.

You want a DRZ400

In the end I got the KLX, I will let you know what it is like to commute 50km each way on. DRZ400's were a bit pricey in my area unfortunately.

Sorry this thread seems to have done its dash without some moron suggesting an R1 or a turbo bus a esp if you were a learner.

Glad to be of service.
