Clutch oil

I have had the little Montesa 125 H6 enduro out the last couple weekends
but it's plagued with a slipping clutch.. had the plates out... cleaned them
checked that they are true "flat"
Tryed SAE 30 weight oil Montesa specs.. now have Motul transoil in it
it still slips...
Heres the diffrents with Montesa clutchs... there is NO fiber plates.. All steels..
the gear box oil dose NOT lube the clutch.. Gear box & clutch are seprate compartments..

Any ideas if there is a wet clutch only oil... or any other oils I could try..
thinking of giving ATF a try....

Ordered a set of new springs... be a few weeks before they arrive from sammy millers in the UK..
the clutch springs are massive.... why it has a 100mm long clutch arm on the motor...

any ideas on oil ??

Metal to metal clutches are VERY sensitive to oils. ATF is probably your best bet, but strip and surgically clean the plates before you put it in as any residual contamination won't help...
Usual proviso too, there's got to be free play on the clutch pushrod when it's hot. Again, metal to metal clutches are different and tend to expand more than those with fiber plates.
Can you run the clutch compartment dry or does the clutch bearing require the lube ? Most of the 60's and 70's M to M clutches were actually dry....

You can get a traction oil someone mentioned it on here ages ago ,very expensive, apparently cvt oil is similar

Somebodys got to say it so might as well be me...pete are you sure this is an oil related problem as opposed to something adjustment wise?

I have been though everything more than once...
but it's just my luck that the 125 H6 is the one Montesa
that dam hard to find much info on .. or parts...:mad:
I also Have a 77 Cota 348 trials bike & yer can get what ever yer
want for it... but not so the 125H6
the 250 / 360 H6 , H7 parts & info are easy....

I would like to replace the clutch plates... The 125 Cappra MX bike
plates may fit... need to know for sure... they an't cheap..

the clutch works good till it hits the power band... 70s 2T power band,
nothing nothing EVERYTHING for a few 1000 rpm then nothing again...

The dealer never sold this bike so when he closed up the bike sat in
his shed for 30 plus years... apart from his kids useing it for a while...
its still new apart from the 362miles on the clock....
quess it makes me the first owner...:cool:
