Interesting fact stating car accidents are reduced if drivers also ride bikes which is a useful bit of ammo not often mentioned.

Imagine if say city councils allocated new road funding to other more worthy causes. Save heaps in rates if nothing else.
Also why car drivers of the '70's and '80's were more aware of bikes and more polite on the road - most had ridden bikes before they got a car.
Statistics for Britain but sentiments for everywhere.

Interesting... think they are just trying to press the right emotional buttons to attract new clients.
Call bullshit on the congestion claim though. At the moment you have an entire motorway full of one occupant cars. And half the congestion is by people panic braking to early just because of brake lights ahead, no actual hazard. Then theres the ones that dawdle away from lights, piss about getting up to speed on onramps. Put the same people on bikes we will still have congestion.
Please let the lemmings stay in cars...
I wonder what the stats are for 'car drivers' that also motorbike, truck driver and sometime cyclist/pedestrian...

So very true. We could not afford a car and we learned about risk to riders, as riders... 40+ years on I still, when compelled to take a car, watch carefully for bikes...

This is the study that those claims are most likely based on:

x2 Without a doubt..
x2 Without a doubt..
and... the first real-world lessons we got from rising, especially with the crap (drum) brakes in those days, were about invisibility and vulnerability; not about the ability to push other people aside with a turbo under the bonnet and spoilers and auxiliary lights and a set of RalliArt decals..

Makes sense. Will mention this to my insurance company right away! Wonder if I can get a rebate!
