Hi, I'm looking at buying a RG250 and its in KeriKeri Northland. I figured that someone around here is bound to know the best deal/People to get the bike delivered down to Napier? Even delivered to say Taupo then i could ride it back down would be an option?
Cheers and much appreciated.

Cheers but have considered that option but it's not quite that simple, it'd be around a 10 hours drive at least (i'm Guessing) and i'd have to head up with dad to get it, And we're still calving here. I'll sort something out, still gotta get some more details on the bike.

Well i'm a few minutes north of Napier. The time was just a guess. Seeing it would be my first ride off the track and on the road it might well take 10 hrs! Afterall i've only been to Auckland once before and yer never know, i might get lost in a big place like that ;)

I rode back from Hasting at the end of April.... on my bike 250cc
Took me 4 1/2 hours with stops at Taupo to refuel and food and then at Hamilton to refuel then Auckland. (461 kms)
You just have to work out how long it will take you to get up north from Auckland. Usually 2 hours from Ak to Whangarei... at normal speeds.
I was going at around 110 on the straights... a lot slower on the twisties as there was snow on the side of the road just out from Napier...

I find 58min from Ak to Whg a little hard to believe. It's 100 miles (160Km), you would have to be going an average speed greater than 100MPH (160KPM) and it's definitely not a straight road. Obviously It was way back before the 2-5 cops on Waipu/Ruakaka Straights that we have now.
Transport of bike: how soon do you need it down Napier? Might look at a Whg - Napier and return sometime Next WE. Could bring a pillion back up. What you really need though is an exprienced local rider near you to pillion you up and ride with you back down (one that is not a hoon), so that you have some company. They could also hound out the hassards for you.

Yea Dad (Gixxer4Ever) was thinking of doing that, but with the whole calving on the farm at the moment he really needs to be here as much as possible.
The guy has offered to bring the bike down to auckland and meet me there (a 3 1/2 hour trip for him) so that would cut about 5-6 hours of driving time off there and back. Still not 100% sure on the bike as of yet.
