Limit 5 per customer. What are we waiting for?! Don't we all need 5 scooters in our garage?!

Well I always believe the internets (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aprilia_SR50), so I believe this will do 90km/h once derestricted.

13 inch wheels, liquid cooling, double disc braking, and a direct injection engine.

On the other hand, Mossy linked to an R1100S that went for $2800 last week... Probably a bit quicker ;-)

That is a fucken spastic comparison.

I've got a GSX-R750 in the shed that cost a grand. It will smash either the scooter or the beemer, but my 16 year old daughter can't commute to work on two of the three, or get brand new vehicle warranty on them.

Pretty big outfit is the Warehouse, with a strong returns policy. I somehow doubt they're importing them to sell without warranty.

Aren't Aprilia brought in by Triumph NZ? Would rather buy from someone getting them new overseas.

Those "Aprilia" SR50s are frikkn notorious for reliability issues.

just checked the dealer list and it only looks like the warehouse are selling them online - you pick the bike up from the dealer

Obviously I don't think that.

Didn't say they wouldn't warranty. Im just interested to know if this is arranged through NZ importer that supplies bike shops or is parallel import. The Warehouse will know its obligations but are they going to use authorised agents for repairs or is it an instant exchange on failures. Just curious. Love to know what bike shops think about it.

In Christchurch pickup is at First European (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php/175499-Bad-Impression-Christchurch-First-European-Motorcycles)

I wonder if you get the same service (or even worse) when going in to pick up something you bought through The Warehouse?

The Aprilia agents are the collection points so in that case they will be the service agents also. I find this interesting.
I remember The Warehouse getting AEG appliances and the existing shops unable to sell what was a top Euro brand because of the change in perception of the product.

Wonder how many scooters The Warehouse have?

The Warehouse had these on a 1 day special last year too.. and they were priced at $2500.
Dunno how they manage to sell them without being a LMVD, but as someone said earlier here, pick up is from your local dealer. Warranty too no doubt.

As for reliability, they are powered by the 50cc Piaggio Hi-Per 2T engine and transmission which are super reliable, until people start to piss around with them.
Unrestricted, they'll do 65kmph max, uncorked, lighter trans rollers and a sport exhaust, they'll do 90 kmph. Get that carb jetting right though, or it'll end in tears.

Next - the Warehouse will be selling an MV F4 (and I can go book a test ride - that bike looks all kinds of Sex)

Looks like they didn't sell very many. As another poster said, they were sold as a 'Red Deal' last year at $2500 and went real quick. Sorry Aprilia or Triumph NZ or whatever, but you'll have to come up with a better deal than that if you want to shift them. Motorad has that deal going all the time..

Now, Now, you already have yours - so its not like trying to dissuade me is going to improve your chances of getting one.

And besides - I said it looks like Sex.

Quite often the better they look the less fun they are to ride and the more needy they are. The big fat ugly ones go off like a rocket.

The Warehouse have long been parallel importers of all sorts of things: sunglasses, TVs, perfumes, God knows what all, and now apparently motor scooters.

Their scooter isn't like a "bargain" price though it's only about $200 cheaper than the new Honda Giorno.

Yeah, totally agree. More bang for your buck if your honest about yourself.. You also get a bigger sump, better lubrication, softer vibration, and reliability when you ride them hard. Usually a full cooked breakfast, too.
