Sweet news, Mototokens offers you a cool new twist on adventure riding and exploring!
So what is this all about? Well, we all know about geocaching, using a GPS to find a little box hidden in an interesting location. It is a popular way to get out and explore new places but often times they can require quite a bit of walking to find so they don’t necessary mix all that well with riding when you’re decked out in riding gear. Also, they can often be very hard to find due to someone with overzealous hiding skills or being stolen or lost.
Tag-O-Rama is a very cool game but it is limited to areas of rider population and single stages of “tag you’re it” meaning it can’t really be used on a large scale, group riding or planning an epic exploration trip.
So what is this Mototokens thing then? Well, Mototokens is a mix of geocaching and Tag-O-Rama where epic landmarks, lookouts or features are marked as waypoints on a map that you can find with a GPS. The goal is to ride and find these locations, then take a photo that includes either you or your bike proving you were there so you can claim your token and say “Yep, been there”. You can record your Mototokens on RemoteMoto.com which allows you to:
a) Find new Mototokens to visit and claim
b) Create your own Mototokens for other riders to claim
c) Track your Mototokens (and other riders’ Mototokens) in one place
Put simply, Mototokens are a fun way of exploring new places on a bike PLUS a great way to share your own knowledge of cool places with other riders by creating your own Mototokens for them to claim.
