Sweet day people, bit of grit on the rd's but hey ya get that. Still a fair bit of snow up the Hill Top (you can see it in the pic a Akaroa) A reasonable turn out plenty of one wheeled action R1 them skidders you leave on re entry are up to 3m long.... and smell bad from behind :slap:

Skyrider good to meet up with you in Akaroa, those at the meeting point (see pics) were Bren_chch... I saw that wee mono, Sniper, R1a, SuzyQ... nice new bike a .6 R1, Rashika and Biff.

As far as the Social Riders rally went.... well they werent too social, $25 just to walk in so we dident go in, hell if they had said a fiver then we would have spent some money at there bar... ohh well looked HD oriented, so no big deal :wait:

Great ride today, the R6 is running sweet and I seem to be riding it quite well! I even led the boys round the Old Tai Tapu Road, not a common occurance and I did cheat, but I thought they would catch me. :motu:
I have now seen 201kms (twice today) on the clock, didn't quite get my head blown off. Looking forward to getting my new screen. Not wanting to brag and all but I was also 4th from Akaroa to Little River, a lucky passing manouever helped that along nicely :nya:
I had expected the roads to be worse, so for me it was a great ride, a couple of bad corners but nothing serious. Enjoyed myself immensly. :woohoo:

24th September 2005, 20:48
yep damn good day and ride, weather was absolutely superb! :2thumbsup
My first 'real' ride on the bike, at least in weather that was okay anyway.

Okay a little bit of grit on the tops but better than I anticipated, and the bike was brilliant......I just gotta learn to ride it now, damn different to a cruiser thats fer sure, but by the time I was getting towards home I was definately starting to get the hang of it.

Still buzzing a bit now.... shame its nightime and I've had few

Exactly one month, Texas, Nevada (Las Vegas where we got married) California, Oregon etc -anywhere we wish) - just quick enough to be back in time for the Winchester Rally (after a quick overnight stop with KBers "thehollowman" while we take in the John Cleese show in Dunners on the Friday night).

FFS, a Buell is a Buell, OK? Just happens to have a Harley engine but its still a Buell!! Or do you call a Aprilia RS250 a Suzuki because it has a RGV engine? How about Bimotas, dont really exist do they, apart from that horrible vdue disaster. If its an SB8 it'll be a Suzuki, or the YB series are really Yamahas, not a Bimota. Cagiva Raptor, nah mate they're Suzukis, got TL engines so we should call them Suzukis, don't we? So why keep refering to Buell's as Harleys?

Perhaps because they have Harley engines, the majority of the company is owned by Harley, so they are a bloody Harley :finger: makes sense to me

A bit late - but - yup a great ride, and I must admit to having one of those spiritual moments on my bike going up through the hills. Man and machine working as one. Very nice.

Hope everyone got home without having to avoid police road blocks and being chased .... :eek5:

Anyone have a spare pair of undies?

So why keep refering to Buell's as Harleys?

Because some sensitive soul is bound to bite if we say it enough. Congrats. :first:

Bren_chch and I went over the hill to sumner and then back again before marvelling at how great our bikes sounded in the tunnel.

Rumour has it that in order to get D 'into the mood' his good lady has to buy him the latest edition Moto Guzzi's parts catalogue and make 'ring ting ting splutter splutter' noises, emulating the mating call of one of his buckets.
