Hi Guys/Gals!
I'm currently writing a research paper on Technology and Riders. I was wondering if you could spare some of your time and fill out my survey?

Will post my research once I am done :)

I'd suggest a little more info about yourself, your studies, in broad terms, and the research paper might be useful - may encourage more people to participate...

OK, I completed it. Overall a simple, but not very well designed survey. It appeared to assume a lot, and didn't allow for full answers or descriptions. Like the question on crashes, didn't allow for multiple crashes, or how long ago, or riding experience prior to crashing, or cause of crash, avoidability of crash, etc.

I have completed it.
I hope the general impression given is that I just ride my bike, and all of the technology wankery does not need to be part of the experience.
Or maybe I'm just old....

Did you have to enter your bank account details or send money to Nigeria so you could get your 4 million dollar inheritance from an uncle you never knew you had?

Done, is it sponsored by Russian Brides.com?
I think I'll take my new selfie stick out on the next ride, when I'm using my GPS and taking lots of pics for FB. Needs questions on coffee, and penis length vs bike HP.

+1 on both counts...
Found the very limited answer choices frustrating - no ability to provide further info/data which would add to the researcher's understanding of the answer choice selected.

I warned you it was ACC.
I figured that out ... after I saw they thought few could have ridden motorcycles ... for more than five years ...
The other questions were to see what possible distractions we might have as we ride ...
But I doubt it was an experienced motorcyclist ... that drew up the questions.

Maybe that's the barrier which I'm trying to investigate further into?
I've been riding for a while now. The questions are to get a general idea of the riding community. Everyone is different, and everyone rides for different reasons. This is what I wanted to know. Will technology ruin the riding experience or somehow enhance it.:niceone:

Yes, and with a few bits you can blue tooth your phone music to it....

problem is they usually have a fairly rudimental internal preamp, which gives you all sorts of arse when plugging out.

Can you plug it into an external amp? I already the amp and speakers, just need a turntable, but one that can copy straight to digital would be most excellent.

You also need a program to break the recording up into individual tracks and also usefull for removing scratches etc. laborious, but do-able. I bought a gadget with a cd rom that has been excellent so far. Have converted about 50 albums so far and about 100 to go. Worst bit is that it is slow, 33rpm slow in fact.

Seems like a weird set of survey questions...and yes I answered them. The only useful device I've got fitted that relates to this survey is a GPS locator hardwired to the bike, accessible by my loved ones by PC at home or smartphone...just in case the unthinkable were to happen.
As for feeling the need to be "in touch" while out on the bike, get real will ya, that's why I go out for a ride. The phone gets switched off and goes in the Ventura pack, regardless of whether I'm out for a few hours or a few weeks.
But yeah, unlikely to be an ACC fishing expedition fellas, so relax :innocent::bye:

What is this "post ride information" that I may like to have available?
This questionnaire is not that well built and is unlikely to generate anything meaningful, particularly given that the sample survey isn't randomised in any way.
