So, a bit more five baggies and a bag o chips?

What requirements do you have?
E.g, not 4wd, not diesel, able to accommodate a taller driver, must fit sideways through a gate etc.

pretty much laid them out. Wofable (running and doesnt 'need work', for a few yeats at least), small engine. Probably hatch. cheap.

Think mirage, charade, glanza, justy, starlet, primera? Carolla, barina. etc. Auto preferred (i think?) but not fussed.

An old diesel 3cyl pos might do, daihatsu, suzi...

dont mind a saab, rover, romeo, bmw etc i just have sfa idea about them.

probly not turbo. Less electric (windows locks etc) to fuck out, but again, buying as a runner, not a fashion accessory so minor inconviniences accepted

This is good advice, if you can find a good one......

But you need good advice to know a good one when you see it.

I still miss driving my '82 900 turbo, don't miss paying for the turbo rebuilds though.

Since then have owned various eurojunk, always good buying because the average pleb is too scared of the perceived cost of repairs. If you're going to drive old shit, drive old shit with a decent badge on the front.

im not going to be driving it.

And i tend to care more about my ability to tow other cars backwards, than what fucken badge it wears.

Maybe ask to take in for wof inspection and offer under 1k if it passes.

There is a Wellington trade in special place advertises on tardme also that takes traded cheap cars from other dealers that are below the dealership visual standards. Some may be very cheap for a quick cash sale at the yard.

Knew a guy who had one which was the body style of the 2 stroke but had as standard a Ford V4. German 1700cc version i think.
It was an absolute hoot to drive. Probably worth a fortune now.

Sub 1k and definitely not needing work for a few years is an oxymoron.
Think Clint eastwood and that scene''Dooya feel lucky punk--well dooya?"
pretty much that's the case with sub 1k cars.
Sorry but that's reality.

i paid more for my stereo than my first four cars. Combined.

And it was enthusiasm that killed them, not any inherent shittery. So no. It isnt reality.

Fucken aucklanders.
