Bike arrived! Looking for good day rides (oakedasan)

Where would you guys suggest to go for a first day decent ride from Auckland ? I've been out to a couple of places just to blow the cobwebs away (Scenic Drive/Shakespear Park) but wanted to go somewhere a bit more .. well ... scenic.

Suggestions ? I'm planning on riding tmr as the weather looks alright ...

Highway 16 to Wellsford, Whangaripo Valley Rd, Weiteitei Rd, Mangawhai Rd to Mangawhai. Cove Rd up to Waipu Pizza Barn for Lunch. Eat. Return. ~260kms from Browns Bay. :scooter:

Maretai to kawakawa then kiawa is a great ride with low traffic and good views. Sing out if you want a riding buddy.
