so picked up my bike today and went for a dawdle. one stall at the lights, and one quick "shit" moment - that was just me being scared to lean.
Didnt cover much distance, but im pretty stiff here and there. and no not THERE. although, looking at the bike... :Offtopic:

never mind. so just rambling about the ride, its obvious I have a LOT to learn. One day I'd be good enough to go on some rides. :spudbooge

Get some basic riding skills going, ie braking safely, cornering etc. then look for newbie rides.

Slow pace, and I'm sure somebody be happy to follow you and offer tips, or you follow them to learn some things...

The addiction is taking hold riiiight aboooout NOW. :nya:

Have fun mate and remember. Ride in your own comfort zone, not someone elses

Just remember two things;

1) "EVERYONE else on the road is out to get you"

2)"Nothing will stop you quicker then an unlit skip"

Good one!
Old guy once told me to be the biggest coward on the road.
He’s not wrong, paranoia can, and probably will save your life!
Have fun!

well, its monday, and Im finally sitting down at a computer. I did about 300kms over the weekend, did a little motorway work, ran out of gas, stalled at lights, and went to surf - accompanied by a car. Been leaning that little bit further through the corners, have to really concentrate so my brain knows im leaning, otherwise the bike leans, but im trying to stay upright!

Im sore all over from riding, hunting from the back of a hilux doing doughnuts, and surfing. yet im still hankering for the fix :wari:

edit: i got about 150kms out of the tank, is my bike thirsty, or is it normal for these RGs? I think the tanks about 10L

what does w00t mean??

From wikipedia :)

"w00t comes to us via a strange path through music and culture. In 1993 two songs with amazingly similar titles both rose to the top 10 of Billboard's hot tracks for the year. "Whoomp, there it is," and "Whoot, there it is" by rap groups Tag Team and 95 South, respectively, were both describing their pleasure at sighting the posterior of a voluptuous woman (and following in the footsteps of the previous summer's #3 smash hit "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-A-Lot). These phrases quickly showed up on the Internet in discussion of the songs and in similar discussion in alt.rap and rec.music. Another, although less popular, explanation for the origins of the phrase "w00t" is from the role-playing game, Dungeons & Dragons and the term, "whoo loot" being shortened to "w00t." Another possible origin of the w00t is that upon getting a successful connection, computer hackers would shout "root". This being modified through passing around, becoming the w00t it is today. w00t could also have originated from the acronym of the phrase "We Owned Other Team" from Counter-str"

Anyone volunteer to take me round west aucks? I'd like to see how to take proper lines etc. having real trouble adjusting from a car, especially with all the loose crap on the left hand side of the road. are there any "meeting" things for people like me?

Remember the front brake is your most powerful so dont just put your foot on the foot brake like you would it a car if you really need to stop!

(they have been teaching me this in my cbta courses)

Rgs rock  they are fun between 9-12rpm  Mine chews the gas tooo. I think mine uses about the same as yours.

Make sure you use ok 2 stroke oil, that way its less likely to seeze. down/clogg up the exhaust. :spudguita

I just got some castrol TTS synthetic, dunno if there any good tho. Ive been hearing the front brake alot, infact, I have to remember to use the back one now. So many things to do at once, I can definately see the appeal!

It may only be a 150 but they go hard :2thumbsup I weigh 85kg once I did 160 (170 on the speedo) and it still had more to go. Not on public roads of course.
