According to their fb page their website is http://www.curvento.com/, this goes live tomorrow according to the webpage...
Looking at the pictures in the gallery it appears to be more style over purpose type stuff.
I would like to be proven wrong, but won't be betting my own money.

I took a punt and ordered a single piece suit from ebay. Custom sized. You had to send about 30 measurements.
I got to pick the colours ( everything black ). I took out all pockets except the inner. I picked hump size. The bonus for me was I am tall with long legs and arms but didn't need buy a massive suit size. Suit is actually a lot better than I expected and was cheaper than a stock suit.
They did a lot of style 2piece and 1 or jackets.
EDIT - wasn't ebay might have been tardme trader as it not on paypal receipts.

possible it is - though the same factory often provides the same or similar gear to varying customers. could be the exact same jacket made at the same factory in pakistan / thailand / china but provided to anyone who can them modify colours / cut / logo placement.
No harm in asking a question about the similarities to see what they say I guess

No, I'm not saying it's a similar photo of a similar jacket. It's literally exactly the same photo, with the logos photoshopped out. That's dodgy as fuck.
edit: Here is a diff image, which shows in pink the differences between the two images at a pixel level. It is literally the same picture with the logos digitally removed.

Its common for the designer to use a manufacturer for a fixed period time of exclusive production. When that time is up the manufacturer is free to use the design and sell it without branding. The designer gets the manufacturing slightly cheaper and the manufacturer gets the reward of adopting the design.

Sure, but the next people to use the design take their own photos of their own merchandise not just to prove they physically have (or at least had one ) that item (that may well be exactly the same less logo), but because it is also theft and questionably dishonest to not do so
The image they've doctored there is labelled as 'bvlgari ladies watches' ffs.

yes, but the image could be supplied by the manufacturer, to BOTH resellers.
If you really give a shit, why not actually ask them, instead of going all private eye conspiracy on this shit. Youll either catch out a liar, or learn something.

I quick search on trade me shows they have been selling gear since 2013. The TM feedback is assuring. I notice they have recently been registered as a company which means they were, perhaps, trading as sole traders before. They have presence on eBay as well - new sellers tough.
My cuz in Palmy bought a once piece suit from them. His experience was very good. Good price for custom made suits.

Any others bought a jacket from these guys? Around $100-150 less than any comparable style leather jackets that I can find in CHCH. I just dont like cordura but will probably go that route to save a few dollars.

has anyone had any experience of how these leathers perform when most needed ... i.e. when sliding along the road on your ass?

How would you like to be sliding on your ass ... with only 1.3mm of "Quality Leather" ... keeping that ass off the tarmac.

I thought that even branded sport leathers like spyke etc used 1mm, could be wrong. A poor zip would probably cancel out the benefit of the leather though....

Or the stitching and overlap/joining of the seams.
its the whole package you need to judge.
does it fit, can you move.
Do do you go for long rides and need to take a pit stop or carry gear.
these little things often forgotten during purchase.

Wow that is a serious piece if kit, things have come a long way since I last bought a leather (cough) jacket at a bike show for $100.
Looking at the curvento jacket though I may just try one, specs seem no less than average for price and a made to measure for me would be awesome as I was put together with spare parts

As i said, i did some research early last year, as they were advertising on Trade Me then, i also went to the Kapiti Road place, found nothing, also that is not the Registered Company name that i saw then, it was another name, i would certainly check this out properly before ordering anything, i could be wrong....

Take a look at http://www.ficeda.com.au/riding-gear/leather-jackets.html those, I know they are on an Aussie Site but I think there is a store in NZ- MOTOLAND, which will be able to get them in. I bought an Ixon Crank leather jacket from them for $512 NZD Which included a solid L1 back protector (this is optional but they threw it in for me) and L2 Armour on shoulders and elbows. The Leather is very very nice. the whole jacket is CE approved including the leather and stitching etc.... I have a card from the place (i bought it at the motorcycle show last year) Send this guy an email ( He was the sales person) anthony@motoland.co.nz and see what the store has in stock, the website is trash. But yeah, would highly reccomend the IXON CRANK jacket, its top notch in terms of protection and looks so damn good. I got it in the brown color but black also looks amazing. (they also have a perforated version- Crank Air, if you needed). Alt I did like the revit Gibson jacket, i tried it on at motomail, its really nice but i preferred the Ixon jacket more. Such a good piece of kit. in terms of sizing, im a small 175cm 62kg dude and I fit a size medium. (~38" chest). But yea give them a call, I hear Segura are a fantastic leather jacket company. They also look very very nice.
Shit I just saw that this was the wrong thread ( i have like 5 KB tabs open lmao, anyway I hope its useful...)

That's a race suit - you won't find 2mm on road jackets 1-1.4mm and then often different thicknesses through the jacket. My Alpinestars states 1.2-1.4. But then you have those non leather stretch sections, obviously in non impact areas.

Ordered a jacket from these guys, done custom measurements. It is manufactured in Pakistan with a very average quality. Jacket arrived way too big and is now costing me $350 to get it altered. My advise to you people out there, do not settle for anything less then popular brands from proper shops. You may end up paying double the price, but its worth it. I could have bought Alpinestars Lether Jacket for $995 and this crappy quality one is now costing me $800.
