Foot peg rubber bushes?

My 250 Virago foot pegs are getting a wee bit loose. I pulled the left side off and there is some looseness between the bush which sits over the mounting bolts and the rubber spacer. The spacer has a rubber flange. For both sides there are eight of these rubber bushes. $100 for the OEM parts, I was wondering if there are aftermarket replacements or if rubber spacers could be made up from rubber tube sourced from an industrial supplier.
Would it be necessary for the rubber flange to be part of the spacer, or could a heavy rubber washer eg bath tap washer, be drilled out and fitted.

My wife is getting a wee bit loose. I pulled her skirt off and there is some looseness between the bush when she sits over, mounting my bolt and the rubber.

Then i rub 'er flange. a heavy rub, and wash 'er, part the spacer and drilled her both sides.

I could machine some up out of uhmwpe (any machine shop could), but it would be close to $100 anyway. if you are feeling a bit dutch you could try wrapping electrical tape around the worn out bush.

Where's your nearest Para rubber shop ? I'd go and see what they've got. Local one here carries a good range of rubber bushes.

I have got the measurements of the bushes so might check out Para. I called in at the local upholstery shop to see if they dealt with grommets or similar in their line of work. No luck. I am okay with buying the yamaha parts but had thought there may have been a quicker simpler way of reducing the looseness of the footrests. Putting the pegs back on, I rotated the rubber bushes half a turn and that seems to have made a slight difference.

You could buy them online from the states for around $90 including shipping, wait a couple of weeks for them to arrive, and that's about as cheap as they'll get.

Yamaha OEM parts seem to be the most reasonable of all the dealers, I would have thought $12.50 each wouldn't be too bad.

If you want to do it real cheap......rubber door stops cut and drilled (if required) to suit....

try rubber bits in petone, or the mount shop in alicetown lower hutt.
