View Full Version : Triumph Street Triple 675

Blackbird
6th October 2015, 13:39
NOW SOLD - Delighted to say that it's gone to a good home where the new owners will continue to lavish attention on her!

International Bike of the Year award winner multiple times.

Purchased brand new and serviced throughout by Hamilton Motorcycle Centre – all receipts available.

The Street Triple is a great bike for both experienced riders and those stepping up – excellent performance and power to weight ratio, but the wide torque curve makes it completely controllable. Relatively low seat height and light weight suits a wide range of riders.

• Has covered approx 67,000 km and is in excellent condition - just get on and ride. Never used for commuting. (Owner buying larger bike).
• Utterly reliable – only work other than routine maintenance: rectifier changed as part of a world-wide Triumph recall and mirror stalks replaced under warranty due to rusting.
• Accessories include:
- Clear anti-scuff film on tank, front guard and some other parts
- Radiator stone guard
- Barracuda Aerosport screen
- Carbon fibre hugger
- Nitron fully adjustable shock absorber
- Rear paddock stand bobbins
- Acerbis hand guards
- Ventura rack system and twin bags
- High quality headlight bulbs
• Recent sprocket, chain and battery replacements
• Michelin Pilot Road 4 tyres

Registered through to end April 2016.

A long-term review and more photos of the actual bike can be found here: http://geoffjames.blogspot.co.nz/2010/08/triumph-street-triple-review-revisited.html

Nice ride. :2thumbsup

Thanks Allan. Would be very happy to keep it but the new GSX-S 1000 arrives in 2 weeks! The dealer offered me a certain price which I knew would have $2-3k banged on it for resale. I priced it so that the buyer and I would both get a win!

Geoff was AWESOME for knowledge surrounding the Honda Blackbird set-up when I got mine ( now I have 2 :innocent: ) the dude rides like a man that obviously knows what he's doing & I value his input on riding & bikes, Jen's on the other hand certainly makes a better brunch than him :shutup::shutup:

Hami you bastard :bleh: ! Far too kind - just an old country fart these days. Got to acknowledge that Jennie leaves me for dead as a cook, but thank you for not mentioning that she also catches far more snapper than me

Safe travels mate!

How about a large bag of salt 'n' vinegar chips and CHF20? - now that's an offer you won't get everyday!

The new ride looks super and the colour - GP* grey so suitable, but does it whistle like the Triple?

Cheers,
Mark

* Grey Power... (yeah, I know, cheeky young fella...)

Hahaha - not even for you Mark, but thanks for the offer  .

No, it doesn't whistle. In fact, the stock muffler has got quite a bark; you'll certainly hear me coming!

Are you and Ken still the Two Gentlemen of Verona? Enjoy!

So I'd better up the offer to include a few Czech Koruna :eek5:

Only until a little later today, then off to Firenze on a Frecciargento - appropriate name for two 'silver-haired' gents... plus a coffee or wine in restaurant car at a modest 200+km/h...

BTW - Ken wondered how you knew about the Gentlemen of Verona and I said, "Jenni told him!" - nice to have friends

On a more serious note, if I was looking for another bike would seriously consider your Triple - a true example of the second-hand vernacular "immaculate condition, superbly maintained".

Oi Mark :bash:

Just because I'm a mechanical engineer, it doesn't mean that I'm a Classics illiterate :innocent:

To be quite honest, I'd forgotten about the play as well until I saw it mentioned somewhere...

Cheers Robbo and thanks. I'm anal about my vehicles .. Wife rolls her eyes and sighs

I just put it on TradeMe too and there's been strong interest. Should be gone within the week - just the distance of Coromandel from civilisation slowing things up in people getting to see it :D .

New bike should arrive in the country in the coming week so looks like a perfect fit!

Nope, I'm still unsure whether Triumph will discontinue the 675 when they introduce the 800 Triple, whenever that might be, so not keen to take the risk. Bought a GSX-S1000 which fills the bill at present. This is my review at 2000 km: http://geoffjames.blogspot.co.nz/2015/11/the-suzuki-gsx-s-1000a-after-2000-km.html . It's now done 8000 km. I can still see myself going back to a Triumph though as it did everything I needed and is lighter and handles better than the Gixxer. However the soon to be released Thruxton Bonneville has also entered the equation  . Will wait until the picture becomes a bit less murky - no hurry.

No he down graded... ;)
