Try here: http://www.meetup.com/Auckland-Motorcycles/

Good bunch of riders, sometimes overnight trips are organised for the masses, but the regulars who now know each other usually organise trips between ourselves.

A few just got back from the Phillip Island MotoGP, but we usually do trips closer to home ;)

Sign up and come along, with the weather getting better the rides will become more frequent again.

Forgotten worlds highway is a weekend trip from Auckland. Up to the cape and back in 2 days. How many km are you happy doing in a weekend?

It's one of the nation's great motorcycle roads. If you went home via SH3 and SH39 that's a good ride too. Shame about the SH1 bit from Ngauruwahia north but you can avoid some of that.

Then there's is the Gentle Annie between Taihape and Hastings. And the road around East Cape and the Waioeka Gorge is another great ride.

The roads around Kawhia and Raglan are nice and either place might make for an easy overnight trip. Also in the Waikato the Okoroire pub had a "Bike shed" bar that was a reasonably popular destination for riders from Hamilton. It has a basic sort of hot pool too. The rooms are good and they did a great breakfast. You'd need to get current info from locals.

Then there's Turangi which also has hot pools. Most motorcyclists like hot pools.

The New Zealand Motorcycle Atlas is worth the price when researhing new roads.

Have fun.
