Interesting... I remember some article about a vehicle (don't recall what) tackling Pikes Peak, and their data said x time was achievable.

The driver was able to beat it.... so there is something to be said for human ability over maths...

What's the point? A self driving car, I can understand, but a self driving rider? Not much point in having a bike is there? Or am I missing something?

There is actually more point to this than just beating Rossi on the racetrack. The robot can test safety enhancements & gear; It's designed to be a real world simulation, a crash test dummy for bikes.

The "I was created to surpass you..." is a challenge towards Rossi hence it's title 'To The Doctor'

I sure hope noone ever takes it upon themselves to build a machine specifically to dominate me.

It might be nice to be so good at something that a mega Corp decides I am the benchmark.

It's nota bad day to go out for a ride. But I've got projects in the garage to catch up on, have to take the kids out in the morning, need to drop something of to a mate and pick something else up.

If I could subcontract some of that stuff out I might get through it all.

He wouldn't pull too many wheelies would he? That carry on just wrecks the steering head bearings.
