View Full Version : Shave for a cure

Ok, so, call me crazy but I've decided to shave my hair off to raise money for leukemia.
I thought I'd post this up here in the hopes that some of you might sponsor me. Or at least share the link for me so that your friends can sponsor me.
Every little bit helps, even just a few dollars or the cost of your morning coffee could go towards helping someone through this dreadful disease.

Thanks in advance everybody!!! [emoji1]

Me personally - I'm not a fan of women with Shaved heads.
I'm also not a fan of people with Long hair shaving it (I did it once - one of the biggest mistakes of my life)
Props to Bikerchick101 for supporting a good cause though - every year I sponsor someone I know through the NZ online gaming community who does the Sky Tower stair climb (He's a Fireman) for Leukemia research.

Good effort. Should be able to make a few wigs for some of the baldies out there from it :D

Owner of a nearby bar was telling me she was shaving her muff for Movember. Not sure if that was an invitation to ask for proof or not.

Thanks for the support guys! There will be someone photographing as it all gets cut off too.
This is the second time I've done this, the last time was about 5 years ago, pretty excited to be helping out again. Losing my hair is nothing compared to what some of the sufferers of Leukemia go through
Here is a before photo

I loved having my head shaven (used to use the blade razor on it every day) - but unfortunately I discovered that every time I did it, when I let it grow out, it came back greyer ...
It's too late now - I'm completely grey - but I'm not sure what sort of reaction I'd get at work doing it again (I'm expected to look like a professional - whatever the hell that means. I regularly get comments about my lack of shoes - I live in jandals)

:Oi:
Come on guys! Surely there's some more of you out there willing to donate to such a worthy charity! I've only had one donation so far, this seemed alot easier when I was living in Te Anau. I had about $100 in the first week down there...
Just a few dollars or a share on facebook would be very much appreciated! :niceone:

i heard if you give money to the cancer society they'll only spend it on drugs.

The cancer society is different from the leukemia foundation. Most of this money will go towards supporting the people going through it and their families. And of course, trying to find a cure
