Hi everyone,
Please give me your feedback on price of this bike. Have managed to beat him down to $3250 drive away, I'm still sketchy about the amount of km's - but I don't really know what's considered high / low / normal for a 1989 Honda. I really REALLY enjoyed riding this bike and it feels right for me as a first bike.

Also, it's been listed on trademe since November 2014, am I looking at a lemon??
Thanks for your input.

Price seems on the high side, but then you're buying from a dealer. Only thing that matters is whether you're happy to pay that price.
At a guess you'll likely just ride it for a year or so and then trade up anyway, most of us do once we have our full licence.

I don't know about the difference in riding style/position etc. but try for a newer VTR250 in a private sale on trademe. They come up every now and then for about the same price (as you have negotiated) but with a lot fewer k's and a fair bit newer. Obviously going private sale you don't get the recourse offered by using a shop but you can usually save $1000-$2000 depending on the bike.

Are you tall? Are you short? How big are your nuts? How deep is your wallet?
These are important things to take into consideration. From one newbie to another :Punk:
